I completely eliminated alcohol almost three weeks ago. It hasn't affected my weight yet but I feel better about my choice. I made a fill appointment today with my NP for next Tuesday.

I did join the Divorce Care group and tonight is the third session. It does help, so far.

My second wedding anniversary after moving out is coming up next week as well. Seems like my life is in a holding pattern. Can't lose the weight I want, can't complete the divorce. There must be a lesson in here somewhere.

Anyway.

This next fill is going to be tricky. I get stuck more often these days, but my hunger has been coming back after three hours. It used to be 4 or 5 hours between hunger pangs. I sure hope I don't go too tight and mess things up.

I've been wearing the same size clothes for a year. I guess that's a good thing, right? I just wish the clothes were a couple of sizes smaller.

I slept all night and no issues with food or acid stomach. Just thinking life is back to normal. Daughter in law messaged and our young 3 year old grand daughter has a brain tumor and cyst recurring. Today she had and MRI and it is back but small. She had this removed in March. I can only trust and obey God at this time. I have no other words. Keep us in your prayers. I am not keeping dinner down at all this evening. Stress is not my friend.......

Good Morning... today is house cleaning day. I have begun the getting rid of phase this week. LOL Life has a way of changing and so do the importance of things! I have tons of card making /crafty items. Still in wrappers of course. I had visions of time spent making delightful cards. With 4 grand kids (3 and under) I have no idea what I was thinking.Maybe I was thinking our boys would be single forever. Blessings on us they married in their mid 30's. Now I have a Thomas Train Table with all the parts. Geo Track and a Kitchen set designed for toddlers in my sun room. Love every min. of it. The craft things need to be packed up. This is just how the weight loss has changed me too. Not very interested in sitting. I love to do things and move and just keep busy swinging and chasing little ones. Thanks be to God for all the blessings! I am at 136 lb today. Feeling like doing things and making plans! Bye bye arthritis!

Praying for ALL of you to have success in that body of YOURS too!

Good morning!!

@@punkinvine - praying for your family. Like you, I like to spend my day moving around. Being home now (staying home after 17 years of teaching) affords me time and opportunity for new projects. The new house has plenty of potential there!

I'm off to volunteer at a local assisted living facility. I spend Wednesday mornings playing bingo or cooking with the residents. It's fun!

Hope all of you have a peaceful happy day. Take care of you.

Trying to get back to the basics(not that there is any other CORRECT way). Eating only when hungry and eating slow. Walking while unloading today. Hope all y'all are rockin it!

Today has been really good. I was up at 04:30. I decided to go for a walk. 3.5 miles! It was not planned for that far but well into it, I got thirsty and did not bring Water. The only thing opened in my little town was the mini-mart. The cooler door is exactly 1.75mi from my front door. So I guess it is a good course to train for 5k! I think I need to really need to get back to the basics. I guess I forget that I am a bariatric patient after time. WE do have special needs for our eating. I would love to hear if anyone else just flat out forget and start eating fast and big bites. I may start a thread on this topic.

Eating today has been good. Let's hear from you peeps!

@@bacon - yes...eating too fast, eating foods that should make me stuck, etc. It's an addiction for me, illness, plain & simple.

Kudos on that walk!!!

@@2babutterfly - have fun, girlie!!

We had reservations in Myrtle Beach for the next five days. I just called and canceled due to this hurricane situation. Can you guys feel me pouting??

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
