Water is making me nauseous. WTH?!

Recommended Posts

The past few days, any time I drink Water, it makes me nauseous. I was sleeved on 12/8. I've been able to meet my Water goals until these few days. I can drink hot tea and Protein shakes just fine, it's only water that does it.

Any ideas? Will it get better - I've always been a huge water drinker, so this is pretty frustrating.

You could try Mio drops.

I can't do anything with artificial sweeteners - they make me sick. I'll try lemon tomorrow. I just thought it odd that plain Water would do that to me.

I loved plain, cold Water pre-surgery, but after a couple of weeks post surgery it stopped tasting good. It had a metallic taste. I tried it room temperature which was better. I finally tried drops. Mio wasn't bad. I tried Crystal Light. The grape was good. Ice tea now works but that is limited to one cup a day. Try the drops. I never would have liked them pre surgery but I do like some flavors now. Others went right into the trash!

I get minor nausea with Water. Some days it is worse than others. Try drinking it in the warm side.

@@ChronicJam The sleeve can be tricky at times. If you like coconut try drinking some coconut Water. It's a super hydrator.

I couldn't drink plain Water or use artificial sweeteners. They both upset my stomach. Also had a bit of lactose intolerance. I had to find Protein Shakes sweetened with stevia and I drank a lot of Lactaid, soy milk, diluted 100% fruit juice, regular Sports drinks, regular Vitamin Water, pedialyte and Decaf herbal teas. All of these issues resolved after about 4 months and I can tolerate anything now. Although I still dislike the taste of artificial sweeteners and prefer real sugar if I am drinking something sweetened.

I've been adding lemon and have gone back to sipping like right after surgery. So far, so good. It's gonna be hard for me to make my goal today, though! Thanks for asking! ????

Plain Water tasted so bad to me after surgery. It took several weeks before I could tolerate it again. People looked at me like I was crazy when I said that water tasted awful!

I am 4 months and Water is working better but still not easy. I miss it. Used to guzzle it. It does get better.

Water makes me nauseous if I drink it too fast. I was sleeves on 12/8/14 and didn't have trouble with the water until last week. If I slow down and sip really slow I am fine.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
