Good afternoon! How is everyone doing? How is your pain and food progressing? Ang issues getting in your Water? Have you established a good routine? How about your surgical sites- are your band aids coming off yet? Do the incisions still hurt?

And good luck to all going into surgery tomorrow and throughout the week! You can do it!

It is so wild to finally be able to say I have surgery this week!!!!. I remember first reading on here a month before I started when folks were talking about their April surgery.

Had my surgery follow up appt. with Dr. Friday. With preop diet I'm down 25 lbs. he asked if I had cheated at all...I admitted to licking one of my daughters Bojangles biscuits!!! He laughed. I wanted something salty...kinda sick of the artificial sweetener taste! He kept me on 3 Protein shakes, fluids, and added a couples bites of either yogurt, cottage cheese, or scrambled eggs.

He said I was a great patient, no complications, no complaints. All incision sites are healing well. So thankful!

Good luck to everybody having surgery this week!

I have this pain, too... It's not awful- mostly annoying. It gets better every day, but I'm still paying close attention to it. My surgeon told me that it was the site that would hurt the most, but it should get "better" and not a ton worse. If it got worse, I'm supposed to call.

As far as shake size, I only do 8oz at a time. I think I'd drown if I did 14!

How many ounces lucky? I am concerned I pushed it too much today! I don't think I am going to try another Protein Shake today and just focus on liquids and tomorrow try fewer ounces! I found a protein shake I'm going to try called pure protein it has 35g protein and only 11 ounces!

Not having any luck with Protein intake... nothing tastes good since surgery, except my popsicles. I don't know what to do.

If Popsicles are working maybe try freezing some fruit flavored Isopure. You would be able to get in your protein that way. Or maybe "almost" freeze a Protein Shake. :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
