Today is definitely better than yesterday which was better than the day before! I think my bladder has finally woken up a bit. I'm no longer scared to take in liquids because it's coming out slowly but surely.

Protein is not been a problem. I switch to lactose-free milk and I'm using a lactose-free Way powder. (Nectar/Syntrax) so far nothing has disagreed with me. I think I'm probably dealing with some residual gas because I do have some chest tightness that I can work out with a good burp.

My only issue so far is diarrhea. I understand that it's completely normal, but any plans of me going back to work at this point would be thwarted by my bathroom needs. Anyone else having diarrhea throughout the day?

Me! But day six the diarrhoea has definitely eased off. Actually I feel really good today, liquids are a bit easier, everything is easier actually!

Good morning everyone! So I'm laying here on my hospital bed. 1 day post surgery. I was in a lot of pain yesterday. And constantly felt like I have to throw up. But today has been much much much better! Must I add, dr verboonen and dr Cortez and his team are amazing! Especially Javier, he's one of the nurses here. Before my journey through all this, I weighed 226. When they weighed me yesterday right before, I weight 210. Which means I lost 16lbs during my 10 days of the liquid diet!! I am hoping to go to the hotel room soon because I would LOVE to bath. Lol. I wish all you February 19thers best of luck!!!

Are laxatives allowed after WLS? I had horrible horrible Constipation after hip surgery in December. I tried everything and was placed on stool doftners in the hospital. Nothing helped. After 10 days I took a laxative. I never ever want to go through that again.

Dumb question- is anyone eating ANY fat? I just realized that the last three days, I've consumed ZERO fat. Anyone else? My NUT said fat free/low fat products, but doesn't the body need some fat to absorb some Vitamins?

Maybe I'm over analyzing it this early.....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
