I tolerated toast early on in the game. 1/2 slice. As what others have said, there are so many other yummy things to eat, that are much healthier, so I just avoid it. I noticed that dry and crunchy is a slider food for me so I really should try to make peace with abstinence.

I'm only 2 weeks out so its not an issue now. But I will admit that I do love a piece of toast with my egg in the morning.

I like bread but since I can only have 25 net carbs I don't wanna waste it

I love bread pre and post op!. I had it at 8 weeks toasted only. No aide effets. I'm really into have wheat bagels(super toasty) with low fat cream cheese smoked salmon and an over easy egg I eat between 1/2 to 3/4 of it and feel full for hours! I was having bad breath for 8 weeks and it was suggested lack of bread, and since I've been eating it I've been good! Hope that helps

Also I only eat whole wheat or multi grain bread. I had white once and I didn't feel so well after. My NUT says when you do eat bread to only to toasted

My NUT said a slice of diet bread and toast it. He said never eat it without toasting because it will turn to mush and swell in your stomach.

i had bread around the third week. i only had half a slice because, bread does make one full rather

quickly. after doing research i found that if you toast the bread it is more tolerable. pre op i ate several

slices of bread per day. i ate approx. ten slices of bread per day. since i cannot eat much of it anymore

i am not worried about it. half a slice to one slice is okay with me. i did have the other day one slice

of pumpernicel bread with tuna salad on the bread. (i didn't toast it) i tolerated it well.

I can have a piece of toast on Wednesday! Already planning. Gonna have it with a little reconstituted PB2. ☺

️Don't know why that makes me so happy but it does LOL Lets see how much of it I can eat...

I tried to eat a piece of whole wheat with some peanut butter...I ate 1/4 of it and handed to my husband to finish...I have noticed I get a lot of gas bubbles when I eat and drink...burp a lot...does anyone else have that issue?

I had bread about 4 months out and it was flat bread, like a tortilla or a about 4 pretzel chips. I stay away from other bread-like foods because they'll puff up more and cause pain as others have told me. And since being sleeved, I don't crave bread anymore. Probably from the simple carb "detoxed" during the pre-op diet.

I find what works is healthy Protein first, good carbs like veggies and fruit next then if you want bread make that the last part of your meal. Remember that bread will burn faster than your protein and isn't as satiating.

On Pinterest I saw an interesting recipe for high protein cauliflower bread.

I am about 2.5 months out and the only bread I eat is the multigrain flatbread at Tim Horton's with just egg and cheese. It is only 180 calories and doesn't bother me at all (sometimes I cant eat last few bites).

At soft foods I was ok'ed to have a slice of wheat bread...maybe someone can school me on the diff of not having toast but having rice? Maybe I read it differently but someone said they don't eat bread but they eat rice?

Not sure who said that but there's not a big difference between white rice and bread. It would be just as much of a slider food. However a brown,red or black rice would be more of a complex carb because you'll get Fiber with it and it's less processed than white rice. I've had brown rice once since surgery, but I kinda have a taste for some black rice.

I burp like a longshoreman now. No bubbles or upset stomach, just really loud, rude burps.

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

        I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.
