5 days PO and water is my enemy :(

Today is the first day water has actually made me sick! Even my protein shake was not going down - I've only been able to eat a cup of tomato soup. Any suggestions?! I was doing great with water, but today has been torture!

I can not manage straight Water and things that are cold are not much better. I have had great success with herbal teas 1/2 packet of sweetener. (be careful about the sweetener - I found one did not do great things for my bowels). I let the teas cool until they are warm and not hot. I was warned to not have cinnamon in teas... no chai for me

I'll try that! I love tea. I was actually told to try cinnamon by my dr, tried it in my protein shake, but was only good the first day :/ today I was back to feeling sick after the first sip.

I'm also wondering why no cinnamon. My winter spice tea has been soooo good to me in the morning. Please share.

@@sunnkistme I did that too and still do some days are easier than others. Plain water is just hard for some reason. Keep at it.

I'll chime in as well. :) I'm 7wks today and water still gives me fits. Dr said it's normal. And why no cinnamon? I do love my tea. It has been a great help in getting liquids down for sure. Hope today is a. Great day!

I have a really hard time with plain water also. The only thing that goes down smoothly for me is propel water lemon flavored. That I can drink. It is really weird. Good luck!

Apparently cinnamon can irritate your freshly restructured tummy. At least that is what they said at the class. I stuck with organic fruit flavored teas. I really enjoy mint teas but they occasionally bother my new stomach

.

Why no cinnamon?

Cinnamon can have the same effect as tomato based stuff and citrus. It can irritate new sleeves. I would think further down the line it would likely be fine but in the those early post op days, the acid would be painful

Thanks for the insight.

I'm at the same stage you are and I've decided that my problem with the water is that I can't drink it slowly enough. I don't know why, but I just can't.
