Got My Date! January 6. Anyone else on or around that date?

  • Popular Post

Got the call today. I hate to say it but this is as bad as a child waiting for Christmas! Three weeks are gonna take forever to get here. Was so hoping to have it by years end but they said that there were several people who's insurance would be terminated on January 1st so they wanted to try to get them all in first. Oh well, the important thing is I was approved and have a date. This just gives me more time to loose a few extra pounds and shrink the liver. Lol Good luck to all those who have their surgery between tomorrow and the end of the year. Chime in and let me know about your experiences. I would so like to hear about them.

My date is January 6th. I started my liquid diet today. I love the orange cream flavor.

Same day! Today is my first day on the liquid diet so far not bad...check back later lol! I love the GNC Lean Shakes the Orange Cream is yummy so is the chocolate and vanilla. I do not care for the cookies and cream a little bit too sweet.

Hi. I just joined this amazing site! My surgery is set for January 2. Great way to start the new year with a new me!! I am excited and a little nervous at the same time !! I have my preop appt on dec 29th then in one week from today I will have my surgery. It seems that things are going fast forward!! No turning back now!!

@FallenStar we share the same day!! Good luck we are almost there! Do you have any prep before your date? Pre-op diet? ????

I am wondering the same thing about vitamins @@Itstime4menow

I've seen posts mentioning crushing them with a pill crusher or mortar and pestle.

I ordered a vitamin kit through my surgeon's website and was surprised that only one is chewable, and the other are capsules. I am going to ask him about swallowing them.

I have been told to buy everything chewable until you can tolerate regular food again. I have already started my multivitamin and calcium, both chewables, before my surgery. Hope this helps. It's getting closer. Final surgeon appt on Monday.

Jan 5th, sooooo excited but not liking the liquid diet! Especially over the holidays! You got to do what you got to do I guess!

I am in the same boat with the liquids BUT I am doing it and in my head it's a test of strength and well-power for our post-op life. I say we got this lol ????

Well, I had my appt. with my surgeon yesterday. I have pre-op tomorrow at noon. They said it takes about 3 hours. Scheduled to be at the hospital on the 6th at 5:30 am with a one possible two night stay. Is it sad to say that my life is centered around this surgery now? That is all I think about. Started my protein shake for breakfast and dinner and a high protein meat and low carb veggie for lunch yesterday. Won't deny I was kinda hungry when I went to bed but I stayed out of the kitchen. After pre op tomorrow, I am going to go do some shopping to get what I need for after the surgery. I am making a list of what few items I am going to take to the hospital. Chapstick is on top, seeing that is what all post-op sleevers HIGHLY recommend. Everyone else ready??? What are your thoughts and feelings as we are just a week out, some others longer and others right around the corner?? Voice it!!

Got my pre-admission done today. Before going I was questioning my sanity again. I feel better now. One week from today is the surgery. I start on liquids in two days. This week on low carb high protein has not been too bad.

I feel so unprepared! Had my preop appt with surgeon yesterday and dietary class tomorrow for details on diet. I've done no shopping, nothing ready for liquid diet or surgery day. Only 7 sleeps til surgery day! Eek!!

I've been on my liquid diet for one week and surgery is on the 6th at 7:30 and I should arrive at 5:30am. I'm not sure what's going on but I almost feel zombie like, like I'm waiting for this to happen and I don't believe it until it's done? I've done very well following all instructions but I'm just taking it day by day.

Maybe because I haven't been a "normal" BMI since high school and i know this is going to be such a big year for me. I look at people's pages and I can't imagine me with all those successes! I can't wait for the change but I am just feeling a bit of the nerves I guess. Happy ones, change ones.

Good luck everyone! 2015 is going to be a great year!
