  6. Got my pre-admission done today. Before going I was questioning my sanity again. I feel better now. One week from today is the surgery. I start on liquids in two days. This week on low carb high protein has not been too bad.
  7. With reflux, there will never be a bedtime snack or late dinner. The gastroenterologist increased my dose to 40 mg in July and that has made a tremendous difference. I am still hoping for a miracle and no more acid reflux after the sleeve.
  8. Thanks. Disappointing about the acid reflux. But it can't be as bad afterward since the diet will be much improved. One week from tomorrow. It's the final week countdown. Happy New Year to all. It is going to be a great year!
  9. No pain before or after. He removed it and sent to lab. No further treatment. I had heard of colon polyps but not stomach ones. Hope I will be able to get off them after surgery.
  10. I just had upper zgI and the doc found stomach polyp. I have been on Prilosec for many years. So that may be the cause.
  11. Try doubling the dose of Prilosec. I took 20 mg for years but it didn't stop all reflux. Now on 40 mg and no reflux. Insurance will probably pay for the higher dosage because there is not one over the counter. Mine does. I am pre-op. Scheduled Jan. 6, 2015.

  13. I started low carb diet today. It is actually good so far. I found an app that keeps track of food and breaks it down to carbs, fats, protein, sodium. MyFitnessPal. Ben has a scanner for bar codes that makes it super easy and gee whiz. Will start on liquids Jan. 2.

  15. I know exactly how you feel, txprincess. I keep asking myself if I am doing the right thing. Worrying about the pending surgery (Jan. 6) , about being in the hospital, about having only two more days of eating what I love, about eating right on the diet starting the day after Christmas, about getting everything organized for pre-op and post-op and the future in general is taking up all my thoughts. Two weeks from today, the surgery part will be a major step behind me. Yeah! And then the next day of the rest of my life begins. Yeah!
  16. @@fallingstar How true. I can't estimate how many pieces of exercise equipment or the number of diets, especially the Jan. 1 diet, the next Monday diet or first of next month diet or after the holidays diet I have had. The sleeve is the best piece of equipment we could ever have. And, tada, it is happening the first week of the New Year. I have to admit I have had a few "last meals" and "last favorite foods tastes." Having less capacity and less hunger will be a godsend. Making healthy choices and getting the proper nutrition will give me a new lease on life. I'm dreaming of a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and New (or at least refurbished) Improved me.

  18. I'm on Jan. 6 also. Three weeks from today, we will be second day post-op!☺️
  19. Thanks for noticing the "lost" weight. I wish! Haha. Got that corrected. I start my pre-op diet the day after Christmas. How's that for timing? Excellent. Trying to get all my ducks in a row for post- op diet. Wondering if there is any flavor of baby food fit to eat? Just wanted an emergency option.
  20. What a great testimony. It is especially encouraging to me because I am that scared rabbit right now. My surgery will be Jan. 6. You know what I am going through right now, ups and downs, excitement, fear. I will be so glad when I don't dread the surgery and am on the other side, never to look back only forward to a more healthy life.

Sounds like some of your friends are jealous. When they tempt you with cheeseburgers and fries again, remember that nothing tastes as good as being thin and healthy feels. Congratulations on your progress. You look fabulous!
