PRE OP DIET SUCKS!

  • Popular Post

I need a whining moment here. I'm hungry. I want to chew food. And, I work in a school and our home ec teacher has made caramel brownies, oatmeal and Peanut Butter Cookies for everyone already today because she "loves the smell of baking" around Christmas. UGHHHHHHH! I ate a sugar free popsicle....wasn't really the same lol

Ok rant over :)

I have 2 weeks of 2 shakes a day and 1 meal. Healthy choice is the recommendation plus 3 cups of lettuce w/low calorie dressing or 1 small fruit or 1 60 calorie yogurt. 4 days 6 pounds down. Everyday gets better than the day before Thank God

@@heynowkc maybe when I get closer to surgery date my diet will change to something like yours. I have been doing Protein shakes to replace meals. So I know I need to get use to a more liquid diet. This forum is great. Thank you for your reply

No problem!

I am finishing up day 9 of my all liquid pre-op, i'm not sure after all this is over if I will ever be able to have a cup of broth, popsicle or Jello.... can't wait to get through it and on the other side.

IF you are allowed yogurt on your preop diet try the Dannon Lite and Fit 80 calorie ones...the chocolate raspberry and the caramel macchiato are really good and the container has 12 g Protein. You are moving towards something awesome! These are just the steps on the way.

i'm just doing my preop diet and having a hard time. my limit is 1647 calories a day and under 100 carbs, no starch/carb at dinner, and I keep effing up.. I'm frustrated with myself.

My preop diet is 500-700 calories a day and I'm having a hard time getting in that range with protein shakes, sf jello, broth and sf Popsicles.

@@Megan00 I've lost maybe 12-15 on pre-op diet so far with 5 days to go. I forget, what day is your surgery? I just had my final pre-op visit with Dr. Halmi and the dietitian yesterday.

@@Megan00 Next Wed, the 17th! Very excited!

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I'm having my lap band converted to the sleeve Dec. 31. I wasn't asked to do a pre-op diet, but I am putting myself on one any way for a week. I have everything for a full liquid diet. I'm very excited, and also nervous. Any helpful hints on some pre-op diet recipes???

I started my pre op last week and have failed miserably, I've tried to tighten up and do better yesterday and today, but I am so hungry. I have protien "supplements", shakes, bars, Soups, that the doctor office makes and sells. I think it's a little shady that we have to use the products that they manufacture. Hopefully I can pull it off next week, this is depressing me, I didn't think I would have this much of a problem. Dr has only refused surgery out of several thousand, and it was a RNY I believe where they found undigested food in colon. I have major PMS also, which is making it harder. I admire those that can do it without cheating.
