  1. Thanks! I actually would prefer the prepared food instead of making just because of my own time restraints so this is helpful!
  2. What do you guys suggest for quick and easy dinners? I'm about 4 months out and single. I usually have a protein shake for breakfast and lunch but need ideas for an actual meal at home. I'm not a fantastic cook so the easier the better!
  3. So I'm seeing that the hair loss is from lack of protein? Then where does the biotin vitamin come in? I average about,60g Protein per day and just started seeing some loss so started biotin.... Should I just be upping the protein instead?
  4. understandable. I was done in Topeka at Tallgrass. Keep doing the right thing and trusting that this process will work...
  5. I'm also from Kansas....where were you sleeved? I agree, the scale will make you nuts, but I understand the want to check and be validated. I've been walking 30 min a day since I'm still not allowed strenuous exercise and it has been helping.
  6. It was a full week before I thought, "yeah, this might not kill me" lol the first week is really rough. Hang in there, it DOES get better...even when it feels like it won't.
  7. I'm just straight sleeve, I never had the band. And yep, 1 month post op, but still feeling a lot of head hunger and wanting certain foods. Just was curious if any of their info would be helpful.
  8. Has anyone ever had any experience with this group? I am tossing around the idea of going to a meeting and was wondering if anybody had any comments about them?
  9. I know... It was a terrible plan. And my stomach hurts now. My head and stomach really need to get on the same page
  10. I need some grounding help at the moment. I stopped at on the border on my way home from work. I got the chicken empanadas appetizer and got home and ate 2 (took me an hour but had 2) and now I feel incredibly guilty. I had been craving Mexican food so bad. I don't want to screw this up or stretch my pouch. One time eating too much won't permanently stretch it will it? Ugh this is hard stuff.
  11. Oops posted this in the wrong forum sorry

  13. is it a problem swallowing them or do they make you sick if you swallow? Mine made me sick the first week that I was on Clear Liquids only. My Dr. prescribed zofran for nausea and then advised me to eat a popcicle...take the zofran about halfway thru the popsicle then wait about 15 min and take the pill. I was able to keep it down that way.
  14. you go ahead and cry girl! anesthesia can effect your body and you have just been through a ton of stress and body invasion. Crying helps your body release toxins (kind of like sweating) but also helps relieve emotional stress. I cried a few times as well, my mom just kept telling me, "get it out, don't feel bad, just get it out." I think that's good advise here. Listen and let your body do what it needs to so it can heal.
  15. Oh and yes everyone knew about my surgery
  16. I wouldn't say it was a bad thing to be hungry. I ate about half of an applesauce and went on without a problem. Just was interesting how different from home it was. I was sleeved on 12/16
  17. Well today has been the day folks! School started up again here and I'm back at work. Been interesting that I have gotten hungry WAY more often than when I was just sitting around the house! Had my shake for Breakfast, then needed applesauce about 9 and just ate 2 crackers before lunch at 1145. I wasn't really having any hunger at home even after walking on the treadmill but I guess being up and moving around more burns more energy! interesting!
  18. I didn't know that! Thanks for the info!
  19. thank you guys, as always, for your quick replies and encouragement
  20. pepcid is just over the counter. I go back for my first follow up today and it's definitely on my list of things to talk about Was just curious what everyone else was using and doing so I could talk to her better about it.
  21. I'm 17 days out. Feeling good except this damn heartburn and nausea every once in awhile. The heartburn is pretty much when I wake up and when I lay down to go to sleep...I'm taking pepcid as directed by my dr in the morning and at night, but it's not cutting it. Today was the first time I was really nauseous in the morning, I feel like sometimes I get nauseous when my stomach is TOO empty, does that happen to anyone else? And do you guys have any suggestions for the heartburn besides pepcid? I've never had heartburn before surgery
  22. My doc has me taking Pepcid 2x per day for the first 6 weeks.
