You might get more responses in the guys room, too. I think you can post in both places :)

You can see how I am doing numbers-wise in my sig below.

But brother, numbers are only a small part of the big picture. Guys and gals will attest, wearing smaller clothes, being more active, the self-esteem boost that comes with, (and fellas: let's all admit we've "improved" in certain other areas as well, amirite??)

It's a life changer, and the scale is just a teeny portion of that. Best of luck to you my friend.

Hello

I started out at 425. I got on Atkins and was down to 398 when I was accepted in the Baritric program. I was required to lose weight before the Surgeon would set a date. I had to get to 370 so Surgeon let me stay on Atkins. I finally got to 366 in November 2014 and date was set for 12-2-2014. Requirement was to be on liquid diet starting 2 days before and I could not be over my weigh in weight of 366 the day of the surgery. I weighed in at 364 and Surgery was done. I am on day 4 now and was down to 350 this morning. Hopefully this keeps up. I have to stay on clear liquid diet for 2 weeks the semi liquid diet for 2 weeks the pureed diet for 4 weeks and then finally regular food.

Just hang in there and stay with it it will keep coming off.

I'm 43 years old. Gastric sleeve done October 8 so I'm just approaching my 2 month post op. 327 and change day of surgery. 282 on the button right now. Feel like a new person already..physically and mentally. And it's more than pounds lost.

I'm 36. I was 314 before I started my preop. I was sleeved 3 weeks ago and I'm currently 261. Stick to the script....I have no regrets. Best of luck

My progress is on my sig, but don't compare your progress with anyone else's. We all lose at different rates. Your goal is set by you, your surgeon, and your nutritionist.

Set many milestones for yourself on your journey and enjoy both the scale victories and non-scale victories. Long-term success is all our ultimate goals.

Best of luck!

I'm not a guy but as mentioned above, scales are not your best measurement! You will have more energy, sleep better, be able to be more active, you'll drop clothing sizes, and your lab results will improve. Those are the real wins!

55 YO started 344 hit about 234 at 6 months. First 5 months averaged about 15 lbs per month. Seems to have slown down to about 8 lbs a month. On coarse to hit goal of 195 at one year. The scale is one thing. Going through clothing is exciting. Your body feeling like its 18 again is like being superman. The ladies dont know what do for hours at a time. Its a good ride enjoy it.

38, was 430 or so at surgery date oct 1. Down to 350 right now. Sticking to the script and it's amazing how the weight drops off if you follow this thing. sleeping great blood tests all good. I've heard hair falls out but i keep mine near bald anyhow so haven't really noticed. Got a lot more energy these days, i wake up full of vigor and work out much better than before.

I was 336 pre-op ... had the sleeve on 11/24 ... I have followed the rules to the T for the most part ... trying to get lots of Protein in ... I have lost 62 lbs so far ... I have found the thing that has helped me the most is working out ... I do cardio 6 days a week and lift weights 3 days a week ... that has made it fun for me b/c I can go to the gym and see results much faster ... results in general

clothes are falling off of me ... I don't snore anymore ... sleep much better, generally have more energy (as long as I get the Protein in), can do way more stuff now and my confidence is getting better everyday ... I am 7.5 weeks post surgery and there are still parts that kick my ass, but, they are slowly getting fewer each day

Hey there, I was sleeved on 4/1/14 and I am down to 193.2 as of today... sig below and all but if your on mobile this may be easier... I agree with everyone here though as well, comparing yourself to other people can be a treacherous undertaking, focus on what is right for you and your body.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
