Yes it was done at The Civic. I thought you guys would get a laugh out of the burping, etc. but it's TRUE!! Let me tell you, it's amazing how satisfying a good burp or fart it. Let me tell you. TMI but by the time you are done you really don't care.

I was the only one released that was done that day. The other 2 patients had to stay. My roommate wasn't doing as well, and she lived a far ways away.

@tintin. I'm doing really well. Still burping but that's about it. FYI burping and hiccuping together HURTS! Pain is pretty minimal. Only taking tylenol about every 12 hours or so. I got to start Protein Shakes this morning. Woohoo! It's a chore trying to get all the fluids in. I have been out and about. My family can't believe I just had surgery 3days ago. ???????? feeling good!????????????

I'm doing fantastic post surgery. Had my follow up yesterday. The nurse was very happy with me. I've been getting in my water/protein every day. No nausea/vomiting. 4put of my 5 incisions are pretty much healed up. She teasingly asked if I was sure I had surgery. Lol. There is hardly any pain, except in the big incision on the left side and that's only if I move the wrong way. And now I get to move on to purée foods. Woohoo!

Hi! My name is Tara and I am going this week for my Upper GI! All I have to do after that is my pre-op surgical visit and then start my 10 day liquid diet! I am super excited and learn so much from these online support groups. I have been trying to prepare myself and family for our journey through this process in the upcoming weeks. Its exciting and I am very motivated!

@kcadoret. The Optifast is really hard. I had a breakdown at about day 10. You can do it. Drink the broth and sf Popsicles and Jello. It will help. I can't say it gets better but you will get thru it.

And just wait til after surgery. food doesn't taste the same. Or even good. ???? that's my issue right now. It's hard to get all the Protein and fluids in.

Just keep up the good work. You can do it! You WILL do it!????????????

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
