I dont understand. Are you 3 months into a 6 month pre-op diet plan? Being scared is natural. I was scared to death until the meds in the OR started taking effect. Now 6 month out and past all the post op stuff I feel very good and am ove 100 lbs down.

Dieting is tough. Developing better habits pre-op will help you post op. The mental aspect is the hardest obstical. You can do it one day at a time. One tool that helped me was a daily meal plan. You need to set your meal eating schedule and follow it. I have been doing this for a while so it has become routine. When I wake up the first thing I do after a trip to the bathroom is drink 20 OZ of Water, With in 2 hours of waking you want to eat Breakfast, for me this is 6AM. The next food that goes in my mouth is 3 hours (9 am) and usually an apple. coffee is a great appetite supressent. I drink all day and black to avoid extra calories. lunch is at noon. At 3PM I am ready for another snack. 6PM is dinner. You will need to figure out how to make it 3 hours without eating. The point is set your schedule and become stubborn as heck to not go off it. I look at it as a challange or game. You wont be perfect, but dont beat yourself up for it. Approach each day one at a time. Drink lots of water all day long. Another helpful trick is to eat slow. It is a pain in the butt, but you will get use to it. Take very small bites and put your fork down between bites.

You're 3 months in, so you're half way there! You've made it this far...I hope the next 3 months just breeze by. Me? Well, I have my first appointment to begin my 6 month physician-supervised weight loss program on 12/22. Yuck, it all seems so far away ????

Now listen here newbie! :) said with a smile. This road your on is gonna get a little bumpie. However I assure you it will be worth it in the end. My dr said 6month diet PLUS loose x number of pounds. That my dear was the toughest. Where my mother who had the exact same surgery exact same dr had to do nothing in her 6month diet. She was told not to loose in the 6month window. Just the difference in insurance. You have a great support system here on this site. We have either already been through or are in the middle of going through this together. You are never alone on here. You can do this. Your half way there and with each passing day the time shortens. Use this time to prep yourself. Find a Protein Drink you like. Start to clean out your pantry of food high in carbs. Utilize the time to your advantage and your surgery day will be here before you know it! Hugs of support!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
