Length of Your Pre-Op Liquid Diet?

My surgery is scheduled for Tues Nov 25, 2014 and I've noticed everyone is saying they were on special diet for 2 weeks. My doctor had me do Atkins diet from 11/17-11/21 then liquid diet 11/22-11/24. I'm starting to get worried that I wasn't advised to be on Protein shake diet for 2 weeks like most of the articles I've read about.

How long was your pre-op liquid diet?

@@HawaiianTexan 2 weeks, BUT do what your Dr tells you to do. There are something's you can get from here but surgeons are different you can't rely of what someone else did...I say that so you don't stress when you read something different than what your surgeon has for you.

@@zabby this is very true and I do trust him. I think the jitters finally hit me lol.

I'm sure we all get that way and I am also sure you will have to call me off of the ledge at some point! hahaha hang in there we will be fine!

I was supposed to do 14 days and lose 12 pounds (5% of my body weight). But I was so excited to get on with the process that I started 2 days early and ended up losing 22 pounds instead.
