  1. I'm 2 months post op and I love sushi too but I can't have much of the rice. Order the shashimi instead, if your from Hawaii POKE rules! Anyways I still share sushi with friends/family from time to time and just eat the center lol.
  2. Your right I'm going to do it daily until I speak to him on Monday. My Omeprazole is 40mg.
  3. Are you mixing Protein powder with that? I was choosing things with little more protien. Can chicken, eggs, Beans, ground turkey. Keep in mind drinks have this effect on me to.
  4. Im doing purees at the moment. I do chew very well. I haven't had anything to spicy, caffeine, carbonated. It's rare that I use a straw one pack of a Protein shake has a straw lol like caprisun drinks. Ive noticed hiccups before when I ate scrambled eggs I thought I ate too fast so I stopped. I generally stop as soon as any discomfort hits (acid, hiccups... Never sneezing). I even experience this with Water so I think I must be full but ill never get more than 40oz liquid at this rate.
  5. I'm 3.5 wk post op and it feels like everything I consume gives an acid reflux feeling. I don't know if it means I'm full? I don't care to eat or drink because of this. I take Omeprazole every other day like the doc recommended. It's this normal? Will I basically have acid reflux for rest of my life? It wad never an issue before but my surgeon did a hiatal hernia repair during sleeve. 3 more weeks till follow up appointment.
  6. I loved having a catheter... I was worried before going into surgery about it but after surgery it's the last thing on your mind. Its no big deal I loved mine! !!
  7. Similar thing happened to me for the EGD. I paid $420 during preregistration, then a bill for $340 cane in mail. I'm just paying it because it goes toward my out of pocket maximum whatever I don't pay here just would have come later in my out of pocket. I hit the max just before the surgery...
  8. You probably should. Just curious do you have a desk job? I've been worried about sitting all day crunching my stomach when I have to go back to work.
  9. No i stopped taking my pain meds on day 4... everyday it got better and better.
  10. @@scootie had my sleeve 11/25/14, released on 11/27/14
  11. @@scootie my 36 hours I was a mess too. My pain was only a 4, but my nausea was an 8. I couldn't stay up for more than 5 mins I made myself keep going back to sleep because being up sucked. Then boom I finally woke up feeling 100xs better my surgeon said all the anesthesia finally cleared my system. I started taking walks alone and so on. I barely requested pain meds from the nurse that night. Anyhow yes it totally gets better!
  12. Be happy you even had dates! Lol many of us are trying to get that.
  13. Problems in my relationship was the finally straw that convinced me that I needed a whole life change and so I made an appointment to see a surgeon. (Bariatric surgery is something I wanted to do since 2010.) Anyhow we aren't 100% broken up at the moment but I don't know what that future holds. Im curious are people getting divorced because they are prettier so they attract some new prospects? Or because a bad/mean/jealous/unsupportive spouse...
  14. Both ways of losing weight are hard but what these people dont understand is that less than 5 percent of morbidly obese individuals succeed in losing a significant amount of weight and maintaining the weight loss with non-surgical programs. That's the difference between your family member or friend who did it by exercise & diet only they probably weren't morbidly obese. If they are morbidly obese lets keep an eye to see if they yo-yo. This is hard in a different way and truely a life change that can't be undone.
  15. Im 12days out and surprised my surgeon said to take it every other day for 1week then stop. To be honest I never took them faithfully to begin with. I have brief moments when I feel some acid but it's because im either bending over, sitting upright (smashing stomach), or laying down.
  16. Only one person said that to me, Ive never updated that person on my status. My family has been supportive I think they all know someone that's had a lot of success with bariatric so they were on board immediately saying "how can I help". I never really spoke to my older brothers about it but I think we give each other enough respect to live our lives the way we see fit.
  17. I've had to endure LGBT comments. Gooooodie I get to look forward to my surgery/food comments too.
  18. Im not liking the unflavored I can still notice it not sure how to describe the flavor but I certainly notice it. I can only tolerate it in chicken soup but I also wanted it for drinks. Im gonna try genepro instead.
  19. When people say they eat chili are they pureeing it? Like ground turkey, Beans, etc cook like normal then just puree it?
  20. @@emsgirl114 I want to smack your surgeons face for brushing you off like that. I'm glad you are finally getting it checked out and things are better
  21. Great job... you are beautiful in both photos.
  22. Hey @@roundisashape I saw my surgeon today everything was good but I have to wait till Tuesday for puree foods :/ oh well day at a time. Anyhow maybe you have gas have you been walking from time to time? I was told not to use a straw because it cause more gas by swallowing extra air or something. I agree standing always feels better.
