Hello! I am from southwestern Virginia. I had my LapBand procedure on March 28, 2007. I went to Louisville, KY to see Dr. Vincent Lusco for my procedure. Wednesdays are my weigh day. I have lost 30.4 pounds as of today. I went Monday, May 16, 2007 for my first fill. He filled 1.8 cc. I am really happy to be on here and hope to gain a lot of support.

Also, how do you get the little tickers at the bottom with your weights and BMIs? I am new to these forums.

Thanks!

Hi Carson.. I'm from SW Virginia too.. Danville to be more exact. I was banded on May 9th, no fill yet ( duh ) lol

How's band life been going for you?

I am from Richlands. Congratulations on being banded. Are you feeling OK? Where did you have the procedure done?

Life with the band is good. I did really great regarding appetite for a while, but right before this fill, I could tell my appetite was really coming back.

The fill kind of sucked initially. I don't think that is too be expected? Louisville is like a 5 hour drive from my house and I went by myself for the fill. I was fine for like an hour afterwards, then I got this major intense pain in my left shoulder. (I know that sounds bizarre) So I chewed up an Aleve, scared that it would not pass through the band. This made me very sick at my stomach obviously because it was empty. Sort of a stupid move on my part, but I was desperate. Anyway, the pain continued for at least another hour and a half. Finally, I felt so sick that I had to pull over and toss my Cookies. It was like immediate relief for my stomach, shoulder, everything. I was instantly fine. However, last night I had to throw up again after just drinking some Crystal Light. I don't know if the band is too tight or if I am just swollen from the adjustment?

I dunno.. I haven't had a problem swallowing any of my medications yet.. but most of them are pretty small anyway except for the pain medicine my surgeon gave me.

I had my surgery done at UVA and was really not impressed with the staff there.. but my surgery went well and I'm almost back to normal. My appetite is still pretty much the same but I can't eat nearly as much and really don't feel like I've lost any lbs but maybe some inches.

I'm not sure about an adjustment but I have my checkup this thursday. I hope they give me a fill or something because my appitite is coming back full force lol

to do the tickerfactory thing, go to tickerfactory.com and make your ticker.. then copy and paste the code in your signature spot.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
