I'm so nervous!! I have always had a problem with my weight I have never been a "small" person. So this is a scary thing! it sounds so crazy that I'm scared to be a smaller person.I have gotten so use to being this way...all I have know. But i'm excited!! the only problem that i see is that I will think about the food that I can't eat for the next 2 weeks too much. How did you all do it?

It is ok to be nervous. I have been overweight since I was 6 so I have no idea what I will look like as the weight comes off. Think of at as a surprise your body is showing you. The pre-op diet flat out sucks but it will be worth it. Just remind yourself it will make your surgery go smoother. Best of Luck.

Lots of people use ice chips, broth, S/F jellow, S/F popsicles, etc. Keep it interesting. Well, at least as interesting as you can for a liquid diet. Welcome to the site! You'll find tons of positive people here.

Did your surgeon recommend one? There are so many! I am starting pre-op on 12/3 and I am using Bariatric Advantage. Unjury is also super good. Some people like Premier Protein, and others like Isopure

The dietician did..but I don't like the taste...the premier ones...too sweet. I saw the Unjury ones they have a chicken Soup on. But I bought a little package of the Isopure. ..we will see how they taste

I didn't like the Premier either. Too thick and too sweet. I think you'll be pleased with the chicken Soup. I was very impressed.

@@GenaW828 I had a big reply typed out for you and it got erased...twice! I was just saying the things that helped me make the two weeks successfully where: making Protein Popsicles. (I bought molds off of target website I think I paid 10-12 bucks and that included shipping) Don't let to much time pass between shakes. Turn off/ mute all food commercials. Don't watch food! I left the room when my family ate the first week. I Was ok after that. There where times I was out to long and had to stop at GNC and buy a single shake...don't go without your shakes! Keep your eye on the prize! It's not easy but it does get better the more time that passes. Just think if you cheat it will just make it that much harder..like starting over again. Drink water/fluids! Go to bed early if you have to to avoid late night temptations. Zzzquil helped with this.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
