I have my first fill on December 2nd. What should I expect?

My first fill was a very good experience, she numbed me with a local (which stung for just a second) then she put the bigger needle into the port ( I didn't feel a thing) she drew Fluid out to verify what I had in there, and then gave me my fill. The whole thing was quick and easy and painless:)

No not at all, and I had an aggressive fill. I have the bigger 14 cc band, and I already had 2.5 cc,so she added 4 cc to it, I still don't have a lot of restriction, but she has me going back every two weeks instead of a month, so I go back for a second fill on this Thursday

Nice! Good luck! When did you have surgery and if you don't mind me asking how much have you lost?

I'm only a month and my band is just on right now, until my first fill December 2nd. I have lost 18 my first month and now I'm at a Plateau in my weight loss.

I had surgery on Oct 3, I lost a total of 18 pounds from pre op diet and first two weeks post surgery. I haven't really lost any sense, but I also haven't gained any back. It can take up to a few mo this if fills, before this thing activates itself and works, so I'm not really discouraged, I'm just enjoying food in the meantime....in moderation of course lol and please feel free to ask me anything, I'm an open book:)

My first fill was a good experience also. It is quick and painless (besides the numbing shot as she mentioned above). I didn't have any discomfort after at all. Just remember you won't feel much restriction after your first fill. It takes 3-4 before you feel one.

The only bad experience I had in a fill was my fault because I did not eat. I had the worst day ever and wasn't eating like I should. I went to my fill hungry and thirsty so while the needle went in I got dizzy and passed out. The doctor said (and I've read this) that this can happen if you don't eat before you do your fill.. So have a bite before you go : )

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
