Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

I just found out my surgery will be in July (granted my pre-op testing goes okay) SOOOOOOOOO

Here's a thread for everyone getting banded in July 07!

Does anyone have any good ideas for a neat name we could call ourselves?

Lynette, anxious to hear how your appointment goes!!! I am sure you will have good news to report!

I get to go to my first support group meeting tomorrow night! Not sure what to expect with that, but thought I would check it out! If I get any good pointers or tips, I will be sure to pass them on!!!:)

DMTJET: My daughter was born here in London. She was born into a very bad situation. Children's Aid tried to work with the family, but they just couldn't get it together enough to care for her. She was born at 26 weeks gestation, and was less than 2 lbs. Poor thing spent 3-1/2 months in the hospital on a respirator, suffered 2 strokes. She briefly went home, but failed to thrive. So Children's Aid apprehended her and placed her in foster care.

Kathy, how sad!!!! Makes you wonder how some people are allowed to have children!!!! It is wonderful that you opened your home and your heart for her! I am sure everyone involved is better for it! I can't wait to see her pic!!!!! How old is she? You must be quite a special family! God Bless you all!

:notagreeWell, I am not much of a night owl and tomorrow I can drive again! Of course, I have a lot to get done! Gotta stop in at work and several other places, plus go to my Support Group Meeting in the evening. So it will be a busy day! I am sure that is when the computer repairman will call!!!! Always how it is! I have been sitting here all week and as soon as I need to go out, he will want to come! Oh well, what can you do???

Good night everyone, check in tomorrow!!!! Night all!:notagree

Sorry about my last post, I really messed it. Hopefully you can figure out what was me and what was quotes. I tried to edit it but all I saw were smile faces.

She is 3 years old, and full of energy. What she lacks in grace (due to the strokes, she quite floppy and uncoordinated) she makes up for in strength and determination. She is the happiest little girl I've ever known, and is so cute. She just breaks my heart (in a good way).

For those who have the band, how long did your surgery take? 1 hr? Hour and a half?

For those who are waiting for the band, how long did your surgeon say it would take?

I can't remember how long my doc said the surgery would take and my hubby and I are wondering.

Thanks.

My surgeon told us he's usually done in 35 mins. We've heard one surgeon on the radio claim he can do it in 15. I don't need for my surgeon to be rushing through it though. He can take his time to ensure a proper job. :)

I'll be spending the night in hospital and doing one of those swallow test thingies (forgot the name) the next day to make sure everything's working properly.

Kathybad - You are such a great person!! I'm a disciplinarian at my school so I see the hell many of students come from.

You are so lucky you get to remodel. I want to build a garage with a bathroom, and we can't get a freakin plumber to start the job. I'm down here in Katrina land, you would think after two years we could get contractors but it looks like it's impossible.

Renee - Scroll to the top of the page, click on new post, read the list, and you will see the polls, there is 2.

My surgeon said it will take 20 min. Then 45 min to recover (wake up). Then you sleep on and off for the next few hours. 4 hours after surgery, we go home.

I'm being done in a clinic, not a hospital, and overnight is not required.

Denise,

My heart goes out to you. I still vividly remember watching in horror as Katrina hit. I work for a company that has a manufacturing facility there, and we all were so worried about everyone (even though I didn't know them personally). I can't imagine how difficult these last two years have been for you and your community.

Out to dinner our last night in Whistler! :hungry:

Kathy - Where I live we only had minor damage. Thank God, but many people are still living in Fema trailors around here.

I also think I am going home after surgery without spending the night.

Dancing, IndioGirl, Replicator, Gladstr, Reconciler, and LaNalga...ya'll are up for tomorrow!!! Let us know how you're feeling!

Lynette, I'm looking up how to set up a poll. Give me a few minutes.

Thanks Chimboree

I am just cking in before tommorrow, I have to be at the hospital by 6:15 a.m. and will spend the night. I guess i am a little nervouse as i'm not hungery and the only time i'm not hungry is when i am nervouse.

As of right now i have lost 10 lbs since 7/6 - that's with the help of TWO colon cleansing 0ne friday for scope and today for tomorrow - along with being on a preop diet and liquids for 2 days. So i guess i gotta change my ticker etc...

Well, gotta finish a few things just what to say hi !!!

Talk to you all either Wed or Thursday depending on how i feel.

Janet
