I just found out my surgery will be in July (granted my pre-op testing goes okay) SOOOOOOOOO

Here's a thread for everyone getting banded in July 07!

Does anyone have any good ideas for a neat name we could call ourselves?

welcome James or are we to call you Karen! How you doing? you'll love this thread everyone is so helpful and sweet

WOW, here we GROW again!!!!

Welcome jfk and james (Karen).;)

Breadlady, what happened today:confused: Hope it's good news, but I'm more worried about how you're feeling:sick. If everything is a go, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Take care of yourself. If it's not a go, I'll still be thinking of you, and let us know when they could reschedule for you.

Get Well Soon.

Chimboree, how did your appointment go? I have one with my Dr. tomorrow for a history and physical.

Cherrybomb, :omg: a whole new life for you. Best of luck in your whole new journey.

Sunshine, glad you had a great vacation:cool:. You'll be taking that 4 lbs off and a lot more, so don't worry about it now. I think I'd pay $15 for a few sessions to see if they helped. Once you join with my Dr., you get unimited sessions with nutritionist and physicologist all in the cost.

Snaggletooth, sorry to hear about your waiting game.:faint: Good thing you've been on top of it though. I didn't realize they would give you a date without insurance approval. I'm self pay so I'm not sure how it works.

Corrina, good luck with the pre-op diet:hungry:. I'm one that doesn't have any per op diet. I kind of feel like I should, but I have so much going on in the next 2 weeks, I'm glad I don't.

Marci, you celebrated yesterday too?? I've had that lazy and tired feeling for too long to count now.:bored I think it because everything is situated now, and all I'm waiting for now is the date. I was getting on the computer, day after day, trying to learn all I could about the surgery, and now I feel comfortable with everything I know, and it's almost like a let down of energy. Now the exhaustion of all that researching is hitting me and I have that lazy tired feeling too.

I had my last class tonight.:clap2: I can't believe my date is 2 weeks from today.:) I hope I'm feeling better by then. I'm going to see my PCP tomorrow (if I can get in) to get something for my sinus problem. Maybe she'll just call me something in and save me a trip.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!! DId I forget you. I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry Dini.

Please forgive me. There is so many of us now I have to keep a pad of paper next to the computer and write down names and little things to type to each person. I'm so sorry, I must have skipped over you. It won't happen again, ever.

DINI, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you're having a beautiful day in Ireland. By the way, it's 8:00 pm here, so what time is it there?

OK, I see Breadlady is on the thread. I keep pushing the refresh button my computer to see a reply. My fingers are still corssed for you. Hurry and post for us!!!!!!!

hey

its just after 1 am here. after i wrote that i taught it was a bit childish but was totally ment in jest!!

have you heard from BreadLady? I wonder what they told heer today and if she can go forward with the opp. I hope it's all good news for her. Did you get any nice gifts for your B-day?

My theme song for today! Come on everyone sing! You know how it goes ;)

The sun'll come out

Tomorrow

Bet your bottom dollar

That tomorrow

There'll be sun!

Just thinkin' about

Tomorrow

Clears away the cobwebs,

And the sorrow

'Til there's none!

When I'm stuck a day

That's gray,

And lonely,

I just stick out my chin

And Grin,

And Say,

Oh!

The sun'll come out

Tomorrow

So ya gotta hang on

'Til tomorrow

Come what may

Tomorrow! Tomorrow!

I love ya Tomorrow!

You're always

A day

A way!

Okay, I'm a little giddy! My pre-op went excellent. :clap2::clap2::clap2:My lungs were clear

:). I didn't hide the fact that I had a cold last week and told her I still had sum "gunk" when I coughed. The "gunk" is clear so that is good. She talked to the Anesthesiologist and he was fine with it. The NP just said to keep using my inhaler today and use it first thing tomorrow.

You guys I am so excited I can't stand it! Of course I am terrified at the same time!

Everyone, thank you for your well wishes, prayers, etc. I truly appreciate it. It really feels like we are a family! So I guess I will be the first "band baby".

Dini you are next if I'm not mistaken.

I will try and post on Wednesday probably at night and let you all know how it went. I have to be @ the hospital at 5:30 a.m.:notagree tomorrow morning. That is not going to be a pretty picture.

:) Especially since I have to come "ugly". You know - no make up, no hair products (and I need them or I look like a boy). No jewelry. They gave me some special soap I have to use. Shower with it tonight and again in the morning. I am sure my skin will be dry as heck and itchy and I can't put any lotion on. Yikes!

It's all good though! I am happy.

But hey at least I am first up in the morning for surgery. That's good. Surgery is at 7:30 a.m.

I am so not going to sleep tonight so it's good I have to go early.

Chimboree26 - Great minds think alike. I bought a Magic Bullet on Saturday also. I haven't opened it yet but I did buy it. Can't decide whether I really want it or not. Funny though I had never heard of it until on this site. Well last night when I couldn't sleep (up til 2 a.m.) I turned on the television and guess what was on...an informercial for Magic Bullet! Too funny.

hey BreadLady!

I'm so excited for you so happy everyting went well today. it was great that you were honest with them about having your cold. ! safe to say on behalf of everyone that we want to know every last little tiny detail and also the

very best wishes for tomorrow!

you will definatly be in my prayers!

I'm here watching Jane Eyre its such a fab film (little bit of useless info)

CONGRATS BREADLADY!!!

Can you tell I an so excited for you. I bet you won't sleep a wink tonight, but it will be well worth it. Thanks for letting us know. I was getting a little worried when I saw you hadn't posted yet today.

I saw your name come up on the botton under who was on the thread, so I kept pushing the refresh button, waiting on your post.

You're our "FIRST BORN". No wonder it took you so long to post, you typed out the whole song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DINI, I figured you were just giving me a hard time, and I'm glad. I am sorry though. I just skipped over my scribble I had on paper.

OK everyone, so let me know what you think. If I have a blender and a smoothie maker, do you think I need a magic bullet??????

We sell them where I work, and I can get one on employee shopping day on Friday, but I don't want to spend the money on one if my other blenders will do. Let me know what you all think.

DIni,

I got some new flip flops for my birhtday from my hubby, along with a new bathingsuit coverup. Think he's trying to tell me something. I bet if it was next year, he'd be buying me a bikini and hoping I'd wear it.

HA-HA. My mom gave me some money and some beach towels, and I got a gift card to my favorite eatery from my sister and her family.

All in all, it was an ok day, just a little bittersweet being that it fell on Father's Day and my father has been gone for 16 years now. It's only the second time it's fell on this special day since his passing. It's still hard to deal with.

Anyone want to try the chat room for a bit?

Breadlady, I'm going to go for a short walk with my son and then when I come back I can chat for a bit. Give me 15 to 20 minutes.

Wohoo Breadlady! Good luck sister! My prayers are with you!

I keep reading this stuff about the Magic Bullet. Now, I know that we're all talking about the little food processor....but, while I worked in a home health department at our hospital we had a quadrapeligic patient who used what he called the "Magic Bullet" suppository to really get things out, if you know what I mean....so that's the first thing that pops in my mind. Yeah, I'm a sicko sometimes!

lynette dont talk to me about flip flops i just got a pair of the havaianas swarovski i love them. sound like you got some lovely presents.

Hi, July!

Thanks for all the great updates, Lynette. You are doing a fantastic job of keeping us all "organized".

Congratulations, Breadlady!! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts & prayers tomorrow!

I'm half way through my mandated 10% pre-op weight loss. So I decided to call my surgeon's office this morning & see if I could get an appt. to get on with this process. I didn't know if I needed any pre-op tests, pre-authorization from Medicare, other pre-op appts., etc. But they wouldn't let me talk to the nurse & just passed on a message from him to "keep up" what I was doing! My husband got tired of my weeping & wailing after that phone call, so he decided to call & put in another polite but more adamant request for a call back. Some six hours later, I did get a call back. At first it got even more depressing as he told me they were all booked up for July & I had to get in line behind other folks who they'd been seeing since January! But there was a sudden change of heart & he told me they have one patient who is thinking of rescheduling so he may have an opening for me & he'll call me back tomorrow.... so I MAY have a surgery date tomorrow!! Woo Hoo!!

:)
