    starting over with lapband

Wow, I am so glad I found this thread. It will be 4 years in July since I received my band, and I too have had many struggles. Tomorrow I will finally receive another fill, and hoping to finally get back on track to my goal. I have no one else but myselft to blame for the slow loss that I've had. I've not had any problems with the band, except last October, when I had to have my fill totally removed for 2 months, and had only 1cc put back in around mid December. The first 3 years I did not start an excercise routine, I did not quit smoking, and I really just think I didn't take it seriously like I should have. This past January, I joined a gym, and I have been there religiously 3 to 5 times a week (except for 1 of the weeks) and I quit smoking. I did gain back abut 10 pounds, but I believe what I gained the most was more respect for myself. I am trying finally, and I really do want this to work for me. I still have the stresses of a job, and a family, but I finally have decided not to put myself on the back burner....there's time for stress, and theres time for family, and now there's time for me. That's all I have time to type right now, I have a long drive in the morning to get my fill, but I will definitely check back in to see how well others are doing. We are all in the same boat, trying to make changes in our lives, and even though we struggle, we will all get there eventually. Thanks for listening, Lynette
  2. Happy New Year to all us Detoxors. So I went a little wild last evening, but nothing I can't get back to today. NSV- I excercised today for the first time in months on my wii fit, for 1 hour, and 2 minutes so far, and I feel good. Just getting up on it today was great. Did a lot of aerobic stepping and running in that hour, and then some fun ones too, but I did it. Have my bodybugg up and running today, and been logging in my calories. And I've actually not got on the scale today. Hope everyone had a great night last night and 2009 is going to be F-I-N-E fine.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Hello Lucky 7's, it's been a while, a long while, but I thought I'd stop in to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Hope everyone had a great holiday season. I'm still struggling to get the last 25 pounds off, but I've recommitted myself this past Sunday, and I've lost 5 since then, so here's to a New Year at Goal Weight. Hope everyone is well. Lynette
  4. So I do believe that I will ABSOLUTEly be having a mixed drink on New Years Eve this year. I have a 4 year old son who will be spending the night at his grandmothers, and I intend to take full advantage of the situation. We plan to go out, somewhere, and one drink won't kill me, it will just knock me on my a$$, that's all. I've moved on to mushies tonight, having baked ricotta cheese with marinara sauce. I made about 1/2 cup of cheese with a 1/4 cup of sauce, and it is so good, but I am getting full quickly, which is a great thing. I'll be back to liquids tomorrow as I just made broccoli cheese Soup for my lunch. Hope everyone's having a great day.
  5. Sure, Raspberry cheesecake smoothies- I took 1 tbsp of SF Jello cheesecake pudding powder, 1 tsp of SF jello raspberry jello powder- but it was too much so I'd use only 1/2 tsp, and mixed it with milk, unflavored Protein powder, and ice in my magic bullet. Pretty good. Bodybugg is a device worn on your arm that tracks your movements and calories burned. You can check out all the info at bodybugg.com. If you ever watched the Biggest Loser on tv, they use them on the program to help monitor calories in and track calories burned.
  6. Sounds like everyone is on the right track for the best New Year ever. Weighed in this morning at 176, so down 5 since Sunday morning. Probably just Water weight, but hey, I'll take it. Making it on liquids hasn't been hard at all. I've been reading the recipes thread to get some ideas on liquids again. Just now I'm drinking a raspberry cheesecake smoothie, and it's yummy. Almost too sweet, but good. I'm not quite sure if I'm going to do the pouch test, I may stay on liquids a while and see how well I do. I've done it before after surgery, and I can do it again. Anxiously awaiting my bodybugg at the moment, it shipped yesterday, so hopefully it will be here today, sooner rather than later. Keep up the great work and positive attitude. We're doing it!!
  7. OH Juli, how funny is that. I wonder if it works when the hubby is watching WWE like he is now. Probably not, but it's my bedtime and I;m ending the day with 751 calories, and 99 grams of protein. What a day, and it's over. G'night all. See you all tomorrow.

    Body Bugg Questions

Sounds great. I'm excited about getting it and learning all I can, even though I've read everything I can get my hands on about it, I'm sure it's much different when you have it in your hands and are trying it out. I've wanted one for the past year and a half, and I'm glad I waited to get the new smaller version, and hoping it may not be as noticible under my clothes at work. Thanks for the reply, and good luck on your journey!

    Body Bugg Questions

Hi all, I just purchased my bodybugg from 24 hour fitness and I should have it in a day or 2. Hope this thread is still going in case I have any questions. Does everyone like thier bodybugg?? Having and great losses with it yet? Thanks!
  10. OK, at least I'm not the only one here who can't stay off the darn scale. I just weighed myself a few minutes ago, down to 178 tonight:thumbup:, so that's 3 pounds less than yesterday when I weighed in about 10am:omg_smile:, and I even ate dinner last night after my liquid breakfast and dinner. That's enough to keep me motivated this evening to not eat anything, well, maybe a sugar free jello, cause they are so darn good! If I get rid of this headache, maybe I could do a little excercise too. Detox is working ladies, keep it up!!
  11. Lots of posts to read today, and lots of newly committed bandsters coming together for support, now that is what I needed to read after yesterday's drama. Yesterday was a pretty good day. I did liquids for breakfast and lunch, but had a nice dinner planned and had a little. Today, full liquids so far, 3 shakes and a sugar free jello. I actually have a headache coming on, from the detoxing of my system from sweets, etc. It's welcomed today, since I know I'm doing great. So after researching the bodybugg, I went to 24hourfitness.com and purchased one. They have the new smaller version out, and the new display watch was free with purchase right now, so I got both for $249. Just another tool to help keep me on track. I should get it by Wednesday, and I'm so looking forward to it. Happy New Year to ME!!!! So a question for all of you out there, how often are you going to weigh yourselves??? I think we should all do it at the same time, and post our results, loss or gain, and maybe it can be motivating for us. Any other suggestions are welcome too, just tryng to keep the motivation and support going. Maybe every Monday since today is when most of us are starting. I propose a toast, I know it's early, but what the heck. Here's to us, a New Year, a New Attitude, and a New Committment to US. Cheer, Cheer!!:frown::thumbup::crying:
  12. If you lost 6 pounds over the holidays then that is great for you, but why are you here, trying to bring all of us down. Does it make you feel superior to us? I came back to this website because I needed to get back on track. I found this thread because of the title, but it seems you found it despite the title. Hopefully you will never know our problem. My fills are not always the same, and the foods and cravings are there, and the motivation hasn't been for me after a terrible fall I suffered in May. Excercising has been very hard, and that is how my body got off track, but not that I need an excuse for it. You've almost made me very sorry I ever came back here for support. But, you do not win, and I will be back, with more motivation than ever to prove to people like you that may not understand. Is is not a diet, it's a New Year, with a New Attitude, and some extra support from others going through similar situations.
  13. I use Jay Robbs unflavored powder, but I think it has a slight flavor depending on what you use it in. I can't taste it creamed Soups, but can see it in broth soups, therefore I can taste it more. I can't use it shakes, I prefer the vanilla or chocolate, but I can put it in cottage cheese, yogurt, and can eat it without noticing a huge difference.
  14. Sounds great, and the calories aren't bad at all. My shakes end up being 205 calories just with the protein powder and 1 tbsp of peanutbutter. I like to add banana in once in a while, and they do last me a few hours too.
  15. Luluc, I usually just have the chocolate peanutbutter, but the cheesecake pudding sounds really good too. I'll have to try it. What kind of pudding mix do you use and is it sugarfree? I just use water with my chocolate protein powder, and add ice and peanutbutter. How many calories approximately does your 8 oz shake have? Thanks for the recipe, and about being honest- well, if I can't be honest here with all of you, then I can't be honest with myself either, so it's a start for me, and thanks! Lynette
  16. Ok ladies, so I've updated my ticker, and my weight. I've went up 7 pounds since my last post, probably in June of this year, but that's ok. I'm back on track and heading in the right direction again.
  17. WOW, this is just what I needed. I'm an older bandster banded in July of 07. I didn't necessarily fall off the bandwagon, but a terrible fall in May of this year has really taken a toll on my excercising, and my eating habits. I'm still down 60 pounds, I think, haven't been on the scale in a while to see, but I need to lose about another 25 pounds to goal. If you all don't mind I'd love to join this thread, and I'm thinking of starting liquids today, no time like the present to give me a jump start and try to get in as much activity as I can. This is not easy, and we all still struggle here and there, it's just nice to know that even after a year and a half I can still come back to Lapband talk and get the support I need to get back on track in the new year. Thanks to everyone here, and best of luck to all of us in the new year.:tongue_smilie:
  18. Has anyone been banded by Dr. Sonnanstine at the St. Luke West Hospital in florence, KY? I have my surgery in 2 months, and wanted to see if anyone has any personal stories about their experiences with him. Lynette

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Mango, glad you like your new Kohl's store. We're getting ready to open one on April 6th near me. I was down there helping them set up a few weeks ago, and I'm supposed to be going there again next week to help, but they pulled me to stay at our store because of our territory manager visiting. Chim, did you get a body bugg?? If so, how do you like it? and is it worth the money? Well, another great day for me. I got out and walked today since it was nice, only a 1/2 hour, but more than I was doing last week at this time. And I've been under 1000 calories for the past 4 days, so I've done well with that too. Hope everyone's having a great day too!!! I'll check back in tomorrow.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Hey ladies, Well I didn't get my walking in last night, I had to go the grocery and was there about 1 1/2 hours, and after geting home it was late, and my son had started this horendous cough. We ended up at the Dr. today and he has an upper respiratory infection, sinus infection, and an ear infection. My goodness, this is the second antibiotic he's been on in 3 weeks. I can see now how many germs float around the preschool classrooms now as he has never been this sick!!!! Jackie, I haven't chatted with Dini in a few months, probably since x-mas. I e-mail her sometimes, just funny e-mails you get, you know, the junk mail of e-mail, but that's it. I think of her often, and wonder how she and Adam are doing. So Sunny's not been on lately either. What about Marcy in Alaska, is she around still? It's crazy once you really start to live your life with the band how you get away from the site, but motivation and encouragement always bring us back, like it did me. It just gives me that little push that I needed to get back on track with things, and get my mind back in the game.

Thanks for the invite ladies. I will think about it. Sounds like loads of fun, and what woman doesn't like to SHOP!!! I know I'll have the vacation time to go, just need to check on the money situation and start saving!! Dinner is done, now I need to work on the treadmill, but I need to go grocery shopping, so I'll have to do it when I get home.

Thanks ladies, it's good to be back. I've needed this, the motivation alone from all of you is going to get me through. Thanks a bunch!! Chim- I've started tracking my calories on Fitday.com again yesterday, and it does help. I've done really good again today, turning down any extra food offered to me at work, and skiping the sweets that people brought in left over from Easter. I keep saying if I didn't log it, I'm not eating it!! Still need to get on the treadmill today, but it's early, and I'm getting ready to make dinner. So who all is going to the Mall of America?? Isn't that in Chicago? Sounds like a great trip, especially for all of you to go home with new skinny clothes!!! Have to go get dinner started. I'm going to check in on the recipe thread to see if there's anything new I need to try!!

Hello All, Yes, back again so soon but to post that I had an EGGcelent Easter, stayed under 900 calories for the day, got in over 75 grams of protein, and walked for 30 minutes. I feel like I'm on the right track. I'll check back in after work and my doctors appointment. Have a great day everyone!!

Happy Easyer to everyone!!! So I'm having a rough time of it. I though I had a slip back at the end of February. I went in and they took out 1.5 cc of my 3 cc fill. I aggravated my stomache where the band is. I started taking a new liquid medecine that made me gag real bad, and I ended up dry heaving, which upset my band. I went back 2 weeks later to get part of my fill back in, 1.2cc, so now I'm struggling to stay together. I'm back on track today though. Finally got my treadmill back from my mom and I walked 30 minutes, it's a start since excercising has been tough for me. Sound like everyone is doing well. I see all the pounds lost in the last 8 months and it's motivation for me to keep going and that's why I'm here today. You all motivate me to keep going, so I'll be making a lot more stops into the Lucky's 7's to see how you all are doing. Hope that's ok with all of you. Have a great holiday with your familys and I'll be back soon!!

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Hello all, It's been so long since I've stopped in. Lots going on but I'm still doing pretty good with the weight loss. Currently I'm down to 177, that's 55 pounds down. I'm happy with the loss, just physically I'm not doing very well. I've been on 3 different medications in the last 3 months. I've been so tired all the time. After work I just want to come and take a nap with my son. Our naps used to be anywhere from an hour to 2, but now they've been upwards of 3 to 4 hours long. I've just been so tired all the time. Don't even feel like excercising. So we're trying to figure it out. I've had blood tests that all have come back ok. Now they want me to have a sleep study, since I didn't have one before surgery. Hunter has just been diagnosed with ADHD/ODD and will be stating medication next week after his 4 year physical. I'm very depressed about this, but have spent numerous hours researching on line for answers to his behavior, but have not had any luck. The doctors say that nothing else will help at this time like therapy, counceling, natural supplements, etc. So I guess we're stuck with hard core drugs. I feel like a mother who has failed her son. Ray and I are attending parenting classes for 15 weeks in order to help us cope with our son on a daily basis. It's been very difficult to maintain an organized controlled home with him. And then to top it off, my 15 year old step son moved in with us at the beginning of January full time. He was having lots of problems with his mothers boyfriend, who just kept telling him after every fight to just go move in with his dad, so he did. Hope everyone is doing well. Again, sorry it's been so long, but life has thrown us for a few loops and it's so hard to just cope with everyday life right now. I'll check in again soon.
