Linda, what ever makes you feel good! I haven't thought about any PS, but who knows, after I loose weight anything is up for grabs. Since having 9+ abdominal surgeries, the stomach is flabby no matter what. It actually is numb, don't have any feeling in it what so ever. You be careful girl, follow dr.'s orderes!

Well I just burned over 2000 calories shampooing carpets. It only took me 8 hours to Shampoo the carpet 2 times and rinse it 2 times, and I don't have a lot of carpet, just the livingroom and the hallway! Of course there was the on the knee's scrubbing of Miss Molly's 'accidents'. Now that she is 6 months old and the carpets are clean, I may strangle her if she has an accident. Unfortunately it is rare that a doxy is totally house trained at 6 months.

Now that things are drying, I am thinking a large crystal light and a book. I AM going to splurge and have a 98 calorie adult beverage tonight before bedtime.

Candice is your quilt class for a specific quilt or are each of the students working on something individual? I am considering having an adult ed class for quilting this fall through the school. Most of our local quilt shops have closed and are not giving lessons. Maybe I could get a class going that would bring in some $$$$.

Hey Karla, yes it is a Specific Quilt class. Its a Totally machine quilted 'Block of the Month' class. Only it makes a lap size quilt and I wanted a QUEEN, so ea month instead ofmaking the ONE block I have to make 3 and sometime 4 of the same block. Now I just finished month #4 so I should be working on Blk 4, but I am behind!!! I have about 12 blks to make now to catch up for next class... or I will be overwhelmed at the end of the year... and my quilt will not be complete.

So you go to class #1, pay $10 and get the small pcs of fabric you'llneed to complete the one block, plus the instructions written (she goes over it all verbally in class) then you have to stay for 30mins after class while she shows you all the NEW products that the shoppe will be carrying... then anything she mentions IN class you get 20% off of that day... yesterday she was saying she had too much fabric on hand and had more coming in soon, she needs room - so all fabric was 20% OFF yesterday, just be cause she 'mentioned' it... cool huh? SO needless to say I was bringing fabric home in my CORN FLAKES box that I keep in the car for just such occasions... hee, hee, hee.

As I said before, I have a call into a lawyer to have them go over my child support papers. Is say he has to pay 'until the age of majority', what ever the heck that means. Unfortunately my lawyer daughter is not licenced in MT, and she is more into environmental and insurance law.

Phyl, maybe Earl just missed you and was so lost without you that it made him grouchy. I never could stand someone who can't just say, 'Yep, I goofed up.' You are a better soul than I. I guess that is why I am single.

Oh eARL, i WONDER IF his ears are ever burning eh??? He gets talked about a lot...

Phyl, it isn't hard to recalibrate you machine yourself. It can easily be done over the phone.

Where is everyone? Awful quiet day. Okay I have an addiction, more than just Farm Town, and read everyone's postings to help me get through the day.

Going for a bike ride this morning, put the livingroom back together and then quilting group this afternoon. I need to start thinking about cleaning the garage, bleck.

Have a great day everyone... oh yeah, down another lb. this a.m.:tongue_smilie:

Good morning friends,

Oh Phyl. I can so relate! My family thinks DH is so good--always johnny on the spot to help out, and is friendly WHILE they're here. As soon as we're alone, everything changes. Then it's all about HIM., and all negativity. I've learned that the only way I can get stuff done around here is to start calling contractors and getting estimates. Then when he thinks I'm going to hire someone, he suddenly gets interested in the project and maybe it will actually get done. Did that with the fire pit, and he's finally ordering the materials. Once he's spent his money, it'll get done! I feel for you, Phly. That's one thing about retirement I am NOT looking forward to!

Which brings me to Canada--Candice. I hope you and Peter are serious about bringing electricity out to the shed or wherever you want it. Mel'll be happy as a clam as long as he has a project! When we went to MA last month he put in a generator for DIL's family's house and it was one of the best trips we've taken. He was busy and I could relax and enjoy the visit. Woodworking? Car repairs? My DH can do it all! Empathy? Nurturing?--not so much!

I just showed this post to my DH, so he's on board with the project planning for the guys... hee,hee..

I NEVER share this site with him... it is JUST FOR ME

I am a disaster as far as eting is concerned. OK, I'll fess up. I had a little procedure done this week, (vanity, vanity--no, not the TT I want--gotta lose 20 more pounds for that). I can not bend, lift, or do any exercising for 3 weeks. Additionally, I'm supposed to increase Protein for healing. So. . . I've been sitting around, drinking my Protein Drinks IN ADDITION to eating more than I should, and I can feel the bulges forming. To tell the truth, I'm actually getting bored and thinking about work.

Which leads me to another development. I have to go back to Mall of Amreica! No kidding. I have an accreditation visit in August and the hotel is in Bloomington MN with a shuttle to the mall! I'm flying in on Monday morning and will have all afternoon and evening, plus Tuesday evening and maybe a little time Wednesday afternoon to shop! No complaints there.

OK, well I have an appointment to get stitches out in about an hour, so I better go shower and get my self decent. Then I promiced to watch Margo (the 3-year-old that I watch from time to time) for awhile this afternoon--I think I'm going to take her to a l'l kiddie Water park. Hopefully I can avoid picking her up or chasing after her too much. . .

What stitches??? What did you get done girl? I am confused the Tummy Tuck? or something else? A KITTY lift perhaps??? Do tell

I was looking at my face yest, GOD I have hangy skin there too!!! Argh, my jawline and neck are like chicken Skin and wobbly.. Do you remember last summer at MOA where we were having the "bat wing" competion???

Well I'll be the winner of the FLappy Face compitition..

Had my new DL picture taken yest... can hardly wait to see that picture... NOT~!

Didn't know that, but I hope I'm not making a mistake letting a local provider take over because I'm not even here about 6 months of the year!

Well, I must say we've had several pretty good weeks since the last "pout". He's off cutting lawn for SIL this morning.

We'll be interested to hear more about your "procedure" when we get to Canada!

So sad that you have to go to M of A again!!

Boo Hoo!!

Did you know that you legs get wrinkly too? I can't believe it, I'm not surprised by the 'arm waving' but now my legs. If it doesn't tighten up I will have to wear a total body girdle.

I don't know, Candace. I think I'll win the saggy jowls and neck thingy. And the bat wings. And legs? Let me tell you Karla, I get joked about my chicken legs, but the wrinkles are atrocious. Almost makes me want to give up my shorts but, no way, I believe in being comfy.

Phyl - I just quit using my C-pap. It was at something like 14 too and I would wake up in the mornings with a super sore nose' In fact, I haven't used it in a little over a year and my sinus' are still messed up. It really did a number on them and my nose just runs constantly. It's annoying. I just found out today that my DH's niece just had bypass surgery. The doctor told her if she didn't lose and lose fast, she wouldn't live to see 50. And that is just a couple years away.

Well, we're sitting here waiting for DD to call and we are going to meet halfway for dinner and make the kid exchange. It's been a fun couple days. Well, gotta go, she just called and they are getting ready to leave. I'll check back later.

Have a great weekend everyone. I'm waiting for friends to arrive so my hubby can shuttle us to the Ritz. Parking is 36 dollars a day, hell no we ain't paying that.

We are eating at Muriels tonight, meeting more girls for the day only at Cafe Du Monde tomorrow morning, eating at Arnauds tomorrow night, and probably partying somewhere on Bourbon. I hope I don't get stuck in a resturant, actually I'm a little paranoid. I'm quite tight lately. Maybe I should go put a ziplock bag in my purse. Tomorrow morning roller girls from all over the country have the running of the bulls in the quarter. Hubby says they chase you with bats. We'll probably sleep right through that.

Karla- Congratulations on the weight loss, you are doing fantastic.

Phyl-Congratulations on your goop removal.

Linda- You sure have our curiosity aroused???????

I would love to go on a cruise next summer! We should have our new wood floor in upstairs by then. It's sitting downstairs in boxes, we got it last week. Hubbys got work to do.

Had a good dinner, chicken with strawberries, almonds, feta, craisins, lettuse, and red onion. Pretty delicious. Wanted a lazy evening, and ended up meeting with my teacher friends that are teaching in China to go over 2 years of bills and mail. Nice visit, but now I am way behind in what I need to do to get ready for work tomorrow.

Sorry--don't mean to be mysterious. If you look at my Avatar, you can see that my eyes are pretty much just a couple of slits. This got a lot worse after losing weight. So this week, I finally had them fixed--a little. I had the top lids done. I might have the bottom lids done too some day, and if that's not enough, my plastic surgeon also recommends a brow lift. I'm delighted with the results, however I am bruised beyond belief--even sun glasses don't cover it all. I have fair skin that comes with being a natural blonde (enhanced yes, but blonde none the less), and I tend to bruise easily, but I look absolutely scarry right now. They gave me some make-up yesterday that will allow me to at least go out in public with sunglasses, and they assured me that in a couple more days it will clear up. So I spent this week sitting around with ice on my face, feeling lonely (I didn't tell anyone except DH), eating, and drinking Long Island Iced Teas. Not good.

Linda, congrats on the PS!!! I have always thought you to be beautiful, but there is NOTHING wrong with a little touch up here and there. Naturally you are feeling lonely. I still feel that way about my wls, since other than family there are only 2 people who know about it. Most of the people I know are skinny _itches and they never understood what it is like to struggle with weight. Actually most of my family is still outraged that I went to MX and don't even ask how I am doing. I can live with most of it, but DD#2 who is a PA and have always been VERY close, won't even discuss it. She never asks how I doing, and when I share, she barely acknowledges. Oh well, I should have seen that one coming, but missed it.

Have to work today and am very tired. DD#5 was out with a new young man that she met and since I haven't met him, I was up fussing until she got home. Sometimes I just am getting old. I turn into a pumpkin at 10 pm.

I''ll check in when I get home.

I was MIA with a hangover !!!! My employers didn't/don't think that 30 yrs means squat... Nothing from them - after someone brought it to there attention the whole office came over to my desk and said congrats.. Big whoop!!!

A couple of pple were pissed and said we'll take you out for drinks - so I said yes.. Well we went and drank then went over to one of the girls house and continued to drink and trash our bosses... I ended up spending the night and called in sick yesterday - slept and ate...

Oh ya they sent flowers yesterday - well it's an after thought and they can jump in a lake as far as I am concerned...

Good Morning!

Yeah, Earl is in a better mood. Only pouted for a day this time.

So sorry those jerks didn't see fit to acknowledge your THIRTY YEARS of faithful service!!

That's OUTRAGEOUS!!

Glad you celebrated with people that matter!

SIL had BBQ yesterday for people who work for him and invited us over. So... didn't have any wine yesterday, and skipped lunch, but probably ate too much in the afternoon!

Hamburger patty on lettuce leaves, 40 cal hot dog, a little Pasta salad and a little potato salad. But later I sneaked an unhealthy hot dog, which was really stupid because then I felt miserable... too greasy. No bun, but still too many calories. Later had two small slices of watermelon.

Going down to younger DD's today to babysit so they can go to movie. I think we've only done that once since we've been back home. And only a couple of available Saturdays between now and my knee surgery. They've been busy most of the summer so far... helping a friend build a deck. About a half dozen Microsoft geeks trying to build a deck, and they've been working on it for about TWO MONTHS! DS laughs every time he hears about it... says he did his by himself in a weekend! LOL! But these guys... well they had to start by designing it all on computer! And heard they nail a board and then take a 20 minute break! So it's still not done but SIL decided he'd take today off and take us up on our offer to babysit!

Well back from the gym - showered and dressed - waiting for 9:30 to go p/u debbie and take her grocery shopping..

Phyl glad Earl is in a better mood - love the building deck story - that's really too funny - but sounds like the computer geeks over think stuff and they aren't use to physical labor...

food - well yesterday wasn't great for me either - really the only bad thing was the cheese taco's I had (2) - the rest of my food was stuff I eat every day - popcorn - 1/2 hamburger patty veggies - one pot wonder - bean dip/chips 1 cup - ice tea and watermelon too - most likely 2000 calories - but it's life and I am not sweating it too much - I did go exercise this morning so I havent totally fallen off the wagon :0)

Have fun baby sitting - OMW I know after 4 days of Brooke I was so ready to come home to my quite house...

Hey Phyl; Glad Earl is over his GRUMP FEST.... I hate when Peter gets like that... He had a wee one yest.

We were looking at used Motorhomes in the paper, I found a couple of possible picks and he says "we aren't doing any kind of traveling again until the Dogs are gone"!! "I will not take TWIG anywhere!"

Jerk, really ticked me off...

Janet: Congrats on your 30 years, wow I am glad your work friends took you out, you deserved it... I am sorry to hear that Debbies back is giving her trouble! Please pass along my BEST regards and crossing my fingers for NO PAIN and healing.

Linda: You are so brave... I'd be such a chicken to get anything done on my face... I can't wait to "SEE" you and check it all out ,

Karla: You keep up the awesome work on the W/L you are doing SO well.... you are dropping consistantly and that's what counts

Kari: Did you Passport arrive yet!.

Stephanie: Did you get any word from your lawyer this week? Did DH decide on Gast. Sleeve or Band???

WEll having company this weekend, so don't know if I'll be on or not... DH 's Sister is coming to visit. Havn't seen her in about 6 mos. I get along pretty well with her and I just ADORE her hubby... He is Italian and very affectionate and warm in personality...Not like my SIL at all... Well they do say that "opposites attract" Guess that must be true.

Later babes,

C

Karla--Funny thing about families. When I told my family about getting banded they were very negative. "That's dangerous" etc, but they actually knew very little about it. A year later, after I lost 100 lbs, my sister had it done and there was nothing but accolades for her. So it goes. . . Who knows what's behind their atitudes? I just try to be all the more supportive , knowing how few people really care about anything or anyone else besides themselves.

As for DD's: I emphasize! My 1 DD did just about everything possible push me over the edge. Now that she is 22 and lives on her own, I can relax. It's her life, and she can deal with the consequences. I did everything I could--she graduated from college and has a good job and no children. As much as I wanted a different kiind of relationship with her, it is what it is.

I did and am still taking two kinds of herbal/homeopathic medicines given to me by the PS to minimize brusiing. Sure would hate to see what it would look like without them! I have to say that it is much better today. The make up really does hide the deep purple bruising on my cheeks, and the red eye lids have cleared up a lot.

Janet--I'm glad you got to Celebrate with the people that matter most. Screw the bosses. Spend your time with people of real character--true friends. I had a boss-friend at work once who was more concerned about impressing the "right people" than spending time with me--even though she considered me a friend. I am so much better off with her out of my life. So, congratulations on 30 years, and we will toast to that too in 2 short weeks!

Phyl--what would this forum be like without you? I hope I never have to find out. Love your sense of humor and all that we share! I'm so glad that I'll be seing you again in a couple of weeks! Remind me to have you brief me on Buffalo since #3 son will be moving there next month.

That's it, ladies. Today is one of the rare, perfect summer days in Wisconsin, and I'm going to go back outside and enjoy what's left of it. DH should be home soon (he's off fixing something for someone).

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
