I keep getting numerous email notifications from this site and a couple others I posted on. When I check no one has posted. What in da hell is going on? This has been happening since last night.

I'm so glad I don't have email notifications on. That would drive me crazy.

There is a blizzard warning in effect until 6am here, and until noon in North Dakota tomorrow. I'm going to cancel my fill. I hate to say that. I'm trying to convince myself that roads won't be that bad, but I know that I need to stay home. I'm just worried what another month will do to me.

I will do it. I will do just fine. I just am freaking out a little bit.

Spent 2 hours blowing snow this afternoon after my little JaiJai's birthday party. Managed to only have half a piece of cake. It was a wash day food wise, and even though I was busy all day, no actual work out. Back is killing me though. It probably wasn't the best idea to go push that stupid snow blower....but the puppies really needed me to work them out a path so they could get out of their room and get some exercise.

Okay...gotta get to bed. I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

Me Too.

Hope you're not getting dumped on too bad, Steph. I just heard the weather report and it must be headed this way. 3-5" tonight and another 3" tomorrow. Then, Weds, the deep freeze. Gotta talk DH into heading for warmer climes.

Denise YES !!! I WAS SO "F"ING PISSED I had started that post Saturday morning - but you all had been so chatting that I didn't have time to do it before I left for the gym

I responded to all that stuff - hit post it went thru then NOTHING - IT WAS A WASTE OF A GOOD 45 MINUTES..

I was so PISSED :thumbdown::cursing::wub::cursing::cheers2:

I just got off the damn stupid computer... I had things to do !!!! and when I still on the computer for 3-4 hour streaches - nothing gets done...

On Saturday took the dogs to the gromers did my Target shopping - Went to marshals and got the cuties pair of shoes came home at noon and cleaned my room and bathroom - Sunday went to HomeGoods and got 2 trees - Sofa Table and flower and redecorated my house

Ok little recap

Steph you are not a failure or poser!!!!

Candice - I wasn't critizing your medical care system I am such an Idealist that I think the concept is great everyone should have access to medical care - but I think that Cancer is something serious and you shouldn't have to wait to see a doctor...

Karri - Yes it's about happy weight & being healthy..

Kari - Just keep doing what you are doing (exercising & eating healthy) you will get to your goal - and 165 who be a good #

Denise - Hugs on the Mother issues - and screw your sisters - in the end you will be the better person and they will have to live with their guilt - Isn't it so funny we all wish we had normal lives - then we listen to each others drama and the lite bulb goes on - there is no normal - we all have somekind of drama or issues in our lives..

LOL!! I bet you're right!!

I was wondering what that post was all about!!

Well, not much wind all weekend, but it sure has picked up now.

Earl had to put the awning in AGAIN!! And, it's clouded up, too.

It was such a beautiful morning! And it's pretty warm... like 76.

Phyl - we haven't had any wind down my way _ I know they keep talking about winds but nothing so far THANK GOD cuz I hate the wind

Ok It's Monday back to the grind of things... Hope you all had a good weekend - I am sending sunshine your way...

Thanks for the SUNSHINE Janet! Stephanie, Kari and I can sure use it!!! The weather this week for us 'northerners' is going to be 30 below zero + the wind chill factor... I am borrowing my hubbies arctic longjohns, I think I'll wear them to work under my scrubs!!!

I am a bit more calmed down than I was on Sat when I heard my friend got fired..... I am going to go in to work today and act like I don't know a thing, and see what my Boss has to say for herself.

Back on the good food band wagon, no big damage done on the weekend.

Are you going to be able to make it to Vegas??

Hi Everyone!!!

Soooo, I've gone off on vacation for 3 weeks and all of you guys have gone wild. Hummm!

I went through the holidays in the most interesting mode, an overly tight band. Wow, 4 weeks of hell. Having a teeny bit of saline removed tomorrow, yippie! Have been having problems keeping down anything solid since a little after x-mas. And, of course now I'm so tender that I can't stand much of anything that is not milk based (no fruit included). Thank goodness I have access to my Protein Shake ingredients again.

Going to restaurants has lately included checking for the rest room as soon as I enter. So rough that I even got a sore throat from the PBing. With my luck, probably put on weight while not being able to eat anything. Will work up the courage to get on the scale tomorrow before going to work.

The National Western Stockshow is in town which means "stockshow weather"...temps below 0 F. Heavy snow today and heavy winds and lower temps expected again tomorrow. Lost a bunch of tree to wind while we were gone. Oh well, got to consider it just nature's way of thinning.

Everyone keep your chin up and well wrapped in scarves. You northerners be especially careful. Remember that we don't have as much insulation as last year.

Car

Ladies, the new photos are fabs.

Candice - I just talked to my GF Debbie - we are going to come on Friday Night when I get off work 1/23 and stay til Sunday - so won't get to Vegas until 9 or 10 - Imperial Palace right !!!!

My GF Debbie - has never been to vegas and she will be 55 in April. She is really jazzed... She has lived a sheltered life compared to me...

Kari - This is for you - it took me 5 months to get from my original goal of 160 to 140 - so be kind - it will come... I just never stop the healthy eating & exercise

I think I still have your cell in my cell - I have a new phone at home so I don't have your home number anymore - I will email you ok..

Greetings Everyone:

I have been so very busy that I haven't had the opportunity to write, though I have come on and read everyone's posts. - Not all, just the last two pages or so everytime I come on.

I had a rough November, so I'm kind of glad the New Year has been ushered in. And in CT, it's been "stormed in with snow."

Anyway - I do have a question I was hoping someone could answer. Because I had the gastric bypass, I have now developed a hernia. So, because I need to have the hernia repaired, my surgeon informed me the insurance would pay for plastic surgery on my stomach. I'm assuming a Tummy Tuck.

My appointment with the Plastic Surgeon is next Monday the 19th, and I am so excited to go.

For those of you who have had plastic surgery, how long was the recupperation and has anyone posted any before and after pictures anywhere, and could you tell me where they are?

I promise that I will post, my before and after pix, after my upcoming surgery.

Thanks a million in advance for responding.

Priscilla in CT.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
