So Phyl--Pats or Giants?

90lbsdj7.gif<-- (thanks Angie!)

Hmm.... that's a tough one! It would be exciting to see the Pats make it 19-0, but might have to root for the underdogs, NY... Also, I'm a native New Yorker (Buffalo). DH might be rooting for Nebraska... he can't seem to get it that "NE" means New England and not Nebraska!! He watches football with me, but, obviously, he's not a big fan!!

Hey! Where'd you get that neat blinking banner?? Very cool!

So my plateau is officially gone. I woke up this morning to find the scale down 2.5 pounds. That means that in less than 6 months I have lost 75 pounds. I can't even believe it. I was in such shock this morning that I must have gotten on and off that scale 20 times. Also we went into the other town so that I could buy some bras today at the outlet mall and when we were there I went into Eddie Bauer's cause they were having a huge sale and I am not kidding you, I got into a size large, button down shirts to go with my SIZE 9 jeans.

Katrina - Congrats on getting to onederland. It is such a huge milestone and really seemed to reenergize me to keep it going.

Phyl, Lindaa - I am with you on not knowing who to root for. We are going to a Super Bowl party tomorrow so at least it won't be a lackluster game. I can't bring myself to say that I am rooting for the Pats but I think Eli is a chump too so. The only reason that I would like to see the Giants win is because of Michael Strahan. I like him.

Ruby - I am glad that you are happy with your fill. It is funny how some of us can't tolerate being that tight and others are just happy as a clam. That in itself tells you how personal this journey is.

So Janet must have had a wild evening last night...she hasn't checked in with us today.

Well I am supposed to be chaperoning our winter formal tonight, but I am getting sick so I don't know if I will last the entire time.

Later

Maybe she's not back yet. Must have been some evening. Congratulations on onederland Katrina. That is a good idea of Phyl's to resell the clothes when you are done with them. Hey, try to sell the ones you've just outgrown.

Wow!! That's great, Karri!! Congrats!

Yeah, Janet--where are you? It's not like you to not check in all day!

She said she was going shopping today, but unusual for her not to check in by now!! Who gave her a TWO DAY gate pass???!! Will have to call her if we don't here from her tomorrow!

Yeah, I've taken things to a consignment shop before. You don't get a lot, but something back for your investment. And, the place I went to, if they didn't sell your stuff, you could either pick it up again or they would donate it and give you a receipt. My DIL sells a lot of stuff that the grandkids outgrow on eBay, which is another option.

Hey Katrina, Isn't "1" a beautiful number? Congratulations on making it to onederland. Life is different here--you'll see. I've only been here for a month or so, but the NSV's just keep piling on. I had to put my wedding ring away yesterday as it is so loose I was afraid I would loose it. When I get closer to my goal I will have it resized. That's one of 4 things I want to do this summer: 1. Resize the ring; 2. Get a new driver's license; 3. Get a TT (or at least get serious about it); 4. shoot, I can't remember #4! I'll have to let you know later when I remember.

It's gonna be a slow day today--snowing outside AGAIN, and I am so tired of being cold all the time, I'm just going to turn up the heat in here and bundle up. I wish DH would buy a treadmill or elliptical, but that's another story.

"1" is a beautiful number  I got up this morning and the scale was down 2.4 more lbs. So I may not fluctuate back up to that terrible 2. Hey, about the ring. I would have had to put my rings away a long time ago if I had not had a ringer sizer put on them. I can bend it in and adjust it as I loose and as soon as I hit goal then I will go have them resized. Any good jewlry store can put it on and it is a very minimal cost (mine was around $9.00, I think) and well worth it. I have had to bend it in twice since and it is loose again but it is sure better than having to have them resized more than once.

CONGRATULATIONS!! That is great!

And what a great find that thrift shop is!! And when those clothes get too big, you can take them back and sell them back! They probably take clothes in on consignment.

That thrift shop was a jewel of a find. And she says she is taking "larger" sizes so I have got to pack up my clothes that do not fit any more. And the way she talks it is not on consignment, she just buys them outright. I considered consignment, but this would be easier.

You all have a great Super Bowl Sunday. I gotta get ready for SS.

Good Morning Gang :)

I am alive and well!! Thanks for missing me - you have me :lol::lol: at where I'm at.

Concert was great - tried to go dancing at the club at the casino - I love being able to dance again - I love to dance but at 244 i was just to friggin fat to even dance one whole dance - my legs would be killing me - out of breath - etc - but GF stupid DH wouldn't let her have a girls night out - he had to take us and he hung out in casino while we were at concert and then he couldn't get in the club cuz he had tennis shoes on and they have a dress code. I got to dance about 3 dances and was home at 11:30 - had a good buzz going on.

Never made it shopping my gf threw her back out and I had to go and take her some pain meds - she called crying around 9:30 a.m so went and took care of her till 12 came home ate a hot link and took a nap :Banane20: - never made it to the computer

Today got up 6:30 was at gym by 7:30 did my 3 miles - gotta pay bills and will go to my son's for the Super Bowl - I am just a so so sports girl - I don't know who to root for - Pats - just so they have 19-0 - or the underdogs - I am always a sucker for them and my Dad was from NY...

Kari the days of me not comming home at night are long gone :Banane20:- thats was something i did in my 30's & 40's (well until I got married).:wink2:

Katrina - CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING TO ONERELAND.... :):star::Banane20:

Karri - Size 9 OMG How fantastic :Banane20: :Banane20:

My 14's are falling off me - and I don't have anything just to throw on - for the weekends - I need to go shopping - but don't want to spend too much cuz - I still have some to lose - but gotta do something - I am looking sloppy in my 14's

I have never really paid attention to consigments stores or thrift stores - I know that they do carry brand new stuff - maybe have to check it out... I am not a patience shopper thought - I hate looking threw racks..

Linda

Wow Janet!!!

That's awesome!! You looking great girl. And don't it feel good to be able to get out and do things that you used to sit around and just wish you could do?

I can't wait till I get to 180. I specifically remember weighing 180 about 14 years ago. That was the point where I went on my first low fat diet with a coach who would come to my house every week. I remember loosing 30 lbs with that diet. And I remember how sexy I felt at that time.

We are getting there!!!!!!!

WOW Janet! I literally gasped when I saw your pic. In part because you look so good and the difference is astounding, but also because you resemble my MIL. That's not a bad thing. :wink2:She's a lovely woman and we get on well. You're looking terrific.

Ok, DH gave me this idea. He asked me how to find everyones progress pics and were they all in one place. I told him that you had to scroll through everyone's post to find them here and there. I kinda figured that we are now getting to the "bragging point" with our weight loss and will be seeing many "Then and Now" pics. So I decided to start a thread so everyone could post their pics and we could see them easily all at once. You can always come in here and announce that you have posted new pictures to the thread.

So what do you all think? Do you think we will use it?

I know Phyl and Janet have posted pics recently. Would you all mind reposting in that thread?

If no one thinks it's a good idea or it doesn't get used, I could always delete it.

The thread is called Progress Picture Brag Thread if you want to check it out.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
