What protein drinks did you try for the pre-op diet?

I am most likely going to have to do a 2 week liver reduction diet before surgery. BMI is 47. My doc office recommends Bariatric advantage but I need a more cost effective plan. I thought about pure protein. What do you all recommend? Our diet is 2 shakes a day, 2 protein snacks a day and 1 lean green meal for the 1st week. The 2nd week is 5 shakes a day.

Syntrax Matrix isn't too bad. Where I usually order from it's one of the lower price per serving powders, too.

Ok so there are two recipes...

Choice 1:

Fortified milk-May substitute with soy or almond milk

-1 quart skim or 1% milk

-1 1/3 cup dry milk powder

-(optional) 1 packet no-sugar instant breakfast to each 8 oz serving.

Blend milk and powder and chill overnight. Add instant breakfast, if desired, to each 8 oz serving. Total Protein 21g.

Choice 2:

Cleveland Clinic Protein Drink

-1/3 cup egg substitute (ie Egg Beaters)

-8 oz skim or 1% milk

-1 packet no-sugar instant breakfast

Thoroughly blend ingredients, serve over ice. 20g protein.

Drink 3-4 shakes daily. Must reach about 70g protein per day. Any low calorie Clear liquids are also allowed. My surgeons 2 week plan is one of the stricter plans...shakes and clear liquids only, no solid food. That being said, I of course allowed myself an occasional pickle or celery stick. Not chewing is oddly maddening after a while.

I'm on day 2 of the pre-op liquid diet and switching between blended shakes with Vega Protein powder (veggie-based) and powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury choc/vanilla and pre-made Premier Protein Shakes. All of them seem to have little-to-no aftertaste and are pretty good.
