5 days post op, gurgle coming up throat

Question the gas/gurgle sounds that can hear coming up my throat especially after I drank something. Is this just part of new sleeve and gas or is it reflux? Feels like tiny bubbles and gurgle sounds traveling from lower throat to back of throat but gas doesn't escape.

Sounds like the dreaded slimes. It can happen if you eat/drink too fast. Try slowing down & taking smaller sips.

The slimes?

This is normal and not necessarily sliming. Since your stomach is very swollen and small, gas cannot escape as directly as before, so drinking and eating are likely to cause bubbles, gurgles, and burps. Sliming on the other hand is when you produce thick excess saliva as your stomach contemplates vomiting after eating/drinking too fast or too much.

Mine makes same sounds, gurgles feels like bubbles .

I sound like Chewbacca when the bubbles hit.

I'm over two years out and still get this daily - so guessing its just part of our new sleeve...

Thanks all. Just makes it tough as when that's going on can't go anything down. 3 days home from hospital 3 days came in slightly under goal in protein and total fluids for day despite best efforts

Not getting bubbles 6 days post op. I was in the hospital 4 days. When does your stomach stop hurting like you have the flu? I aye lured chicken last night. The surgeon said eat test it out. I was on full liquids for 5 days. They had me way eggs in the hospital.

It's weird how different dr's progress people on their eating schedule. I was on full liquids until 21 days, so 23 days total including pre-op. Then I was allowed to try eggs at 22 day mark post-op. I am not allowed to try chicken until 4 weeks. A friend had this done.. and she was able to progress food-wise much quicker also. Best of luck, hope all goes well :)

You too. Try an over easy egg. Pam no butter. Its ok. Couldn't eat all of it, but most of it.
