My surgery went well. They ran an ekg on me since I was having chest pains. Everything looked good so they wheeled me into the OR. Don't remember much of that. I remember when they were wheeling me to my own room from recovery I was saying "ow" and groaning a lot. About 4 hours later they had me walk around and doing breathing exercises. I was discharged at 8pm. Movement is much better today than it was yesterday. My main problem is drinking Water makes the gas in my chest worse,so I have to to take a sip or 2 then wait for a burp before doing anything else.

Hi there! I've had problems with this website. I could read what everyone wrote, but when I tried to post it eould kick me out!

Anyway, I've been with you all in spirit and holding your hand from Philly .

All went well on Monday! No real problems. Minor nausea. But it disapates a few minutes later.

I stayed 2 days in hospital. I live alone, so when they offered I said "why not".

Today was okay. Everything tasted real sweet. So, I watered down the clear Protein shakes and it was much better.

Hi Everyone,

Surgery was Monday and it went really well. All I can say is that everyone is different. Therefore your experience will be different. I have been able to tolerate everything liquid so far I have been able get in my Water and Protein in. I had a lot of NASEAU in the hospital. Gas pains as well but Gas X and sipping and walking helps a great deal Few days at home. I am walking and moving around pretty good. I am tired very easy and usually need a nap. But overall good. I wish everyone the best and smooth recovery

Hi everybody! Had my sleeve on the 25th and I'm doing great. So glad to hear you are, too. Hating the liquid diet, though. 7 more days to pureeds. I've lost about 8 pounds since surgery a week ago. Hubby and I can already tell I'm shrinking. So fun!

Just had my one week post surgery appointment. I am down 15 pounds from the start of pre-op diet and 10 pounds down from the day of surgery.

Nice going, Msbritt! On your way!

I've hit my first stall, hoping it doesn't last too long:

Monday: 253.4

Tuesday: 252

Wednesday: 253.4

Thursday: 253.4

Anyone else having this kind of plateau already? I thought I'd get at least 3 weeks postop before hitting a plateau. :(

I feel pretty good. Incisions are healing nicely, not too sore anymore. I'm having BAD head hunger on the liquid diet, though. Really have to stay busy to not think about it.

I've been fortunate with the whole no head hunger. I'm just looking forward to pureed so I could stop with the Protein Shakes since that's the only way I could get in all my Protein right now. Got my staples out today, and I'm down 12 pounds since surgery!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
