Much less 'activity' than previously - maybe because much less food to digest. But I struggled until my NUT and PA put me on Miralax. I buy the generic form now at costco. It really made a difference and I feel much less bloated. Importantly, they said I will not develop dependence on it.

I am one who NEVER went. It was infrequent before my sleeve and after was hardly ever... I tried everything from Miralax to benefiber and then resorted to actual laxatives. THEN, I found the Protein fiber bars ( in the regular granola bar section of the supermarket). FiberOne makes some & there are also generic brands. I try to eat at least one a day and I have been going at least once a day since. I think sometimes we just gotta eat the real deal instead of supplements. I hope this helps!

A while back, someone here on the forum suggested eating an apple every day. I had been doing stool softeners and the prune juice at bedtime, the prune juice being my one serving of fruit for the day. Now, I just eat an apple at bedtime and have a bm every morning.

I have never had issues going.... Except right after the liquid diet phase post surgery I started going infrequently, which as a person who went 1-2X/day it was freaking me out even though I was told it would happen. However, I'm now back to being regular...although a new regular...every 1-2 days and they are healthy. I make sure that I get a min 64 ounces of Water. On the few occasions that I have missed my water intake I've regretted it. It makes me so constipated!!! I also get fiber in my food. I have not cut out fruits and veggies. I also drink a green smoothie made in a bullet 1-3X/ week which keeps all the fiber in. I also use some low carb bread products like healthy life bread and tumaro's tortillas, which have a lot of fiber. I also like the Kellogg's fiber/protein bars sometimes I eat one a day, but not always. I don't know if they make it anymore, but at some point I bought 3 boxes of individual packets of Splenda with fiber in them. So whenever I need a sugar substitute I add those. I take them with me everywhere just in case. I also exercise 5-6 days a week and that also will help keep you regular.

Fruit definitely works... I realized a few days ago that I hadn't went and that my Water intake had not been at my min... I ate a serving of grapes and a little later and apple. I went but it was painful. For me it's not getting enough water that starts the Constipation problem.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
