Haha much better. I'd prefer #1 but at this point I'll take what I can get. And I'm also and open book so ask away too. And thanks for being someone to talk to btw. It's really awesome to be able to walk through with someone.

You're welcome. Yeah it helps a lot. When Dr Varnell first came in he asked what questions I had, but I couldn't think of very many. So I'm sure I'll have plenty of my own later.

I'm just going to throw this out there. It's a little too much TMI but a valid point to make. You all may or may not have thought about it, but since we have to eat so much Protein, it's going to slow down our plumbing. I've been drinking a least one Protein Shake a day for 3 weeks and have noticed "issues". I'm thinking we should just stock up on stool softeners.

Nope. I've actually got up around 5:30 am all week to exercise. I'm going to try to do something every day. Some days it's only 15 or 20 minutes, but it's better than nothing. Besides, I actually feel better after I exercise. Unfortunately I've missed so much work lately because of all my appointments so now I have the privilege of working today and tomorrow. It's a good thing I love my job.

Thanks for the info momma....they have all seemed so nice so far. I'm so ready to get in there and get this thing done so I can focus on the weight loss part and becoming who I'm supposed to be.

You'll rock it. ..just do what they say and you'll do great..

I was teasing of course....I'm proud of you for doing that. Good job!!! I'm so not a morning person so when I work out or go walking it is in the evenings. I wish I was a morning person because I hear how much energy people have after morning workouts. Maybe after the surgery and some weight loss I'll have more drive in the mornings. :)

I know you were joking. But I am not a morning person either but for some reason I just keep waking up at the butt crack of dawn, so since I can't sleep I was just exercising. But today I woke up at 5 and my first thought was to exercise but then I was mad because I set my alarm for 7:30 and could have at least slept in a little lol. I did attempt to roll over and go back to sleep but my little inner voice made me get up. :-/. Maybe I should just accept the fact that I don't get to sleep in anymore. I am a new person (almost. Lol). Therefore I need to get my butt out of bed early in the morning and learn to love it. :-)

LOL you may be right on that. I'd have to kill my inner voice if it kept waking me up at 5am. My bladder already has that job. Lmao

I sometimes think about it being a mistake. I think it's normal from what I've read on here. It's a huge life change but everyone on here and other sites I've seen say it's well worth it. But ultimately it's up to you in the end. We are here for you though :)

Maybe a couple times, I thought, is this really what I need to do, plus spending 4800 is a lot of money I thought could be spent on family things and not something just for me only. Im not used to focusing on me, always others, but I decided it was my turn, I deserved to be healthy and happy.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
