Oh my goodness the pain

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I had my band removed 22 days ago and oh my the pain is unbearable. I've had 3 ceasarian sections and a Tummy Tuck and I've never felt pain like this. The consultant said I have a hematoma where the port was. I'm on Tylex and difene which isn't really doing much except making me feel pukey and constipated.

Who has had their band removed and when does this pain go away? I had to pull out of college and I'm out of work also. I thought I'd be back to normal a week or two at most. The Dr said it could take up to six weeks to get better. I'm going stir crazy sitting on my plum doing nothing. It's a job getting in and out of bed and doing normal tasks like getting dressed. I've had enough.

So, the pain is coming from the port site? Should be a simple antibiotics issue?

Why did you have your band removed?

Byes the pain is coming from where my port used to be. It's all swollen and tender.

I had my band put it in July 2007 and didn't really have much trouble with it untul then past year. My dr who fitted my band is no longer operating in my area and I was being taken care of by the public health system. The professor said after seeing my X-ray and gastroscope results he discovered my band had slipped. My symptoms were chronic reflux especially at night. Also from my scope the professor said the band had started to erode into my stomach. It was in just over 7 years so it was time. They don't last forever. I had lost about 5 stone. I'm petrified I'll put it back on without my best friend, my band. Lol.

Still in pain? My whole body hurts still and it has been 14 days and I start a new job Monday. No narcotic pain relievers in the last 4 days and ibuprofen and Tylenol don't cut it... Any suggestions?

How are you doing? Did you ever find out why you were in so much pain?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
