I was going to suggest getting a job where you have to go in! I know it's much nicer to work from home, but that's a disadvantage to me. I used to think I wanted to work from home, but I'm starting to think otherwise for that very reason - too much access to food. I've even started to think I'm never going to retire....I'm not sure that I could maintain my weight if I was home more. I find that I struggle every evening and all weekend, and days I do work from home.

I'd say try to set up a different routine, keep the junk out of the house, and drink a lot of Water.

Thanks I do not eat junk but even non junk when you have to much of it could be bad! I would consider not working from home but I have 3 kids and it's more economical for me I have been drinking more Water and chewing gum and snacking on sugar free water cicles!

For the last 17 years I have worked at a home office and also travel on biz some. But I'm lucky that I'm not a snacker. We eat 3 meals a day and always have, thanks to Hubby's desire for a scheduled life ... yeah, he's one of those. :)

Having said all that, one thing that helps me hit my daily targets for nutritious food (plenty of Protein, carbs, and real food rather than lots of shakes) is to plan my day's meals and Snacks in the morning and enter them in My Fitness Pal.

Perhaps if you planned your Snacks ahead of time, you'd have more success controlling your snack intake?

If you live alone, get rid of the Snacks. Chuck em all. If you have kids or a spouse, have the Snacks in a cabinet you cannot reach. Buy snacks you do not like. My husband is always buying snacks, but he gets stuff I don't like, and it goes in the super high cabinet my short butt cannot reach.

Getting a job outside of the house is not an option for me, I have a wonderful job with great benefits, but I definitely need to remove all the snack foods etc!

I too have found myself at my desk snacking. The only thing that help at 9 weeks post-op is a jug of ice Water. I love to add Crystal Light grape. It works for me.

I say this all of the time (to the point where some folks are prob sick of it), but this works for me.... when I find myself wanting to snack or eat more than I need, I ask myself this question, "What am I committed to?"-- if I am committed to losing weight and my health, then my actions should line up with that. If I am committed to quelling a craving or immediate gratification, then my actions will show that, too. I can't say I am committed to weight loss while I am eating in ways I know will stop me from losing. :)

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
