I've just not got a lot to report. I'm on a plateau, again. Work, school, getting my kid ready for kindergarten, getting ready for vacation and the new hobby of riding my road bike is keeping me BUSY.

But I do check in to see how everyone is doing.

I've just not got a lot to report.

Same here. There's just not a lot going on. So much for us Gay men leading such fabulous, exciting lives, huh?

I did have another fill on Monday. By the time I got out of the office and out to my car I realized none of the Water had gone down and in fact, was about to come back up. So I went back in and told the receptionist. Well, in about two minutes flat (about the time it took that water to come back up ) the nurse had me back on the table and was yelling down the hall for the doc! He did a slight unfill and all was well again. I am still much tighter than I've ever been, and can only eat about two oz of food, but I'm getting my fluids and Protein Shakes down so I'm not too worried. I usually loosen up in about a week and a half, so I figure by this time next week I'll be just right. :grouphug: In the meantime, I'm out of coconut oil and the weight loss has stalled again. Maybe the increased restriction will make a dent in it...

So how is everyone else doing? We've almost made it 'round to another weekend. WOO HOO!!

Hi all, I'm a str8 girl, but I'm supportive of everyone. The only thing I hate is IGNORANCE! I hope u all do well with this band. I've had it for 1 year and I love it. I'm -78 lbs. down to 168 lbs. This was the best decision I have ever made. The same people who put me down about my weight, are the same people who tried to scare me and talk me out of the band. I am soooo soooo glad I didn't listen to them. I guess some people don't want to see us to succeed because they're so insecure that they are afraid that we'll look better than them. (OK, that was off topic lol) But anyways, Good Luck everyone

I would love to go on vacation where there are a lot of gay people, or even some gay friends, our vacation always ends up with family. I am going to have too just plane it, and tell her pack your bag for x amount of days and lets go.

I have some friends one will come home the other tells her you have 20 min. to pack a bag, and they leave for a road trip.

I just always have so much to do around the house that it is hard to do. Or she has something going on that we can't. She works in Real estate and on the weekends she sometimes get real busy with that, If she misses a sell then we miss out income.

Oh well, at least it gives me something to dream about. lol

Anyway everyone have a geat weekend. I am going to finish up some projects that need to be finished up.

Hey everyone~

Juli~ I'll email you my cell number. We leave next Friday!!! Can't wait. I am getting sooo much done to the house this past week. For the last 2 days, I've had 3 different crews here, and today, I am down to 2 crews. We got the house painted (exterior), carpet in one room, acoustic removed from 2 rooms, master will be painted today, 2 new doors, 1 new screen...I am sure there is more. My poor little check book. I had to sleep on the couch last night, and might have to tonight as well; needless to say, I feel like a zombie. But it will be so nice to have it done and then go to ptown!!!!! Last thing will be new windows when they come in!!!!

Have a great day. Oh yeah, i've been doing sooo good since my fill. I feel so skinny (skinny at 260, but skinny all the same).

peaceout

Damn! You go girl!! I'm starting to get that feeling too (finally). I weighed this morning...I'm down 4 pounds!! And that's without coconut oil! I think I may be close to my sweet spot. I actually put on a pair of size 40 shorts earlier. Still a tad too tight to wear out in public with my shirt tucked in, but I got them on! I haven't been able to wear 40s since high school...and I graduated in 1982!!

LOL, Eddie,

I graduated in 85! I am in between 2 sizes now, but I am down 2 sizes from where I began. I just wanna break the -23 pounds mark...i've been trying. Hang in there, I just figure it this way...it took me 39 years to look this good...it will take me a while to get some of this "goodness" off.

xoxo

you guys are just kids! I graduated in 1971:hippie:!

Pam and Juli and wives too ! When you go to ptown, you should check out the tattoo place on Commercial St. " Mooncusser Tattoo Studio" ( moomcussertattoo.com ) it's right next to a dance bar for us ladies, that I can't remember the name of. Next time we go back, for our anniversary, we want to get matching tattoos. That is if we can find anyplace to add it to Glen's already extensive artwork ;)! I have plenty of space left :). have you found a place to stay yet?

Jo~

We rented a condo!!! I didn't want to stay in a hotel and eat out every meal (i did that for 2 weeks already this summer:( ). The tattoo idea is great, but it is not allowed, lol. I have one, and Susanne is opposed to any more. Plus she is in the military, and tattoos are not authorized for her...we were talking about it tonight. I want more tattoos, I know exactly what i'd get too. I want an Amy Brown fairy on my back. I need to be able to hide it because of my job.

I am so excited about the trip...we've spent the last few weeks remodeling the house, and are ready to relax, shop, and relax some more :clap2:

Thanks for the advice. My GF is not the tattoo type. She's very corperate and doesn't like pain. Doesn't even have her ears pierced. I on the other hand two tattoos, but haven't been all that inclined to get a third in the last 15 years. Actually, when I get plastic surgery to remove the belly skin, my first tattoo on my hip will probably go...I'm not sure how I feel about that, if I'll get it redone or just forget about it....That's something I didn't plan for back when I was 19 and got it!

We are staying at a Lesbian B&B.

Hey everyone, hope you are all having a great summer. Things here are pretty good. My weight loss seems to have stalled, so I think I need another fill soon...I'm still so hungry all the time!

Nothing really to report, just wanted to say hello.

 I'm confused! I thought lots of service "men" got tattoos, you know, they go to shore, get drunk (?)or so some claim, get laid and get a tattoo! or was that just in the movies?! No, seriously, is that rule for everyone or just the women?:woot: I actually have a small fairy drawn that I want sometime. I just don't know where I want it. most of mine are on the left breast and extend to the shoulder. I wanted to see it! I think I can save most of it but the "girls" will probably hang to my knees:pout:gona have to hike um up!:Banane20:lol

what is your job? I thought I needed to cover mine too but I branched out a bit and a little peeks out depending on the shirt. no one has objected and actually it has helped break the ice with some clients! I can cover it if I need to. I didn't find it all that painful. that depends on where you put it!

wish I were going on vacation!!! I really need one.........have fun , I'll be thinking of you all.

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
