good luck picking the doctor that you feel is right for you. i recommend DR.HUACUZ. He has a brand new state of the art facility. I was there the day it passed inspection. very nice and clean. also the price is cheaper than most and the service is excellent. DR HUACUZ has been the best doctor i have ever had. he is really talented and goes out of his way for his patients. customer service is the key with him. call him personally. he will tell you everything on the phone. i have sent many people to him and they are all very pleased. i hope all goes well for you. check out the website online and read . good luck.

oh ya, doctor huacuz also does the tummy tucks and all the stuff you need after losing all the weight. i will have a Tummy Tuck by him next fall. im still trying to lose a few more pounds. ive lost 95lbs. i have gone up and down ten lbs a few times and have hit a wall. so , now i work out harder and try to watch the carbs... doc gives you a discount for any surgery you have after your lapband. thats cool. i looked at the new pictures of the tummy tucks he did and im amazed. i hope i will do as well. i think the tummy tuck is very affordable.

i was banded in acuna mexico by dr. rodriguez! my only suggestion is to make sure someone is with you in mexico - it was a good experience alone, would have been better with someone there....

I have been researching this doctor. Is there any more information you can give me regarding your whole experience?

I along with a friend are getting banded with Dr. Ariel Ortiz in Tiajuana, Mexico in July. I had the chance to get a consult with the nutrutionist, surgeon, and got a facility tour including the room I'll be staying in the night of my surgery. It's a great place and as well have had nothing but good things. Dr. Ortiz has a great medical record and has had so many satisfied patients and it's even hard considering anyone else. Google him, there is tons of info. on him including who and where he proctors.

I would like to put in my 2 cents. I have just arrived home from MX and being banded. It was awsome! beyond my expectations and the care was unbelievable. would love to get this type of care at a US hospital. The hospital was Spotless, staff completely attentive to any requests and again I am excited for the journey but Dr.Aceves is awsome. He actually does his surgeries in a hospital that is privately owned. The hospital reminds you of a high class hotel. They are constantly cleaning. My DH was very impressed. I know that I will pay the extra in airfare to get fills in MX b/c my confidence is in dr. and his staff.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
