Hello everyone I was sleeved this past Friday, Nov 25th. I am glad I found this thread! Still a little hard getting all my fluids and Protein in without feeling nauseous.

They give you medicine and it clears right up. At least that is what my nurse told me if I would test positive. She said it wasn't a big deal.
OK thank you very much

Thanks! Honestly I'm not sure if I really want to lose more weight, but I am going to keep losing so I can have more bounce room.

@@tamirn I think your goal is realistic! But it really depends on you and what you do after the surgery : ) I'm 280 now I haven't received my surgery date yet and I would love to be about 160 so time will tell... I'm gonna try and follow the Ketogenic diet once I'm allowed to eat solids after the surgery and hopefully that will get me to that weight. Oh and I will be doing yoga and calisthenics :)

Oh I still go to the gym. Need to really focus in now before the new year flood of people rushing to the gym starts. post-245068-14811151023992_thumb.jpg post-245068-14811151179134_thumb.jpg

Also hate how the phone app always post my pictures sideways. It sucks.

I started at 365/370 and I am 194 right now and I am not quite 17 months from surgery. I expect I will exceed my goal of 180, and I am thinking about changing my goal to 165. I have to see how the next few pounds go.

You lose the fastest in the first 6 months because you are still healing. It is really important during that time to really nail down good habits. Once you are healed you can eat a wider variety of foods and old habits can creep in.

Your sleeve alone will probably get you to about 250, if you really want to lose all the way down well below 200, that is going to be on you and your lifestyle changes.

Right now I'm 351 my goal weight is 175 is that realistic??

Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

Yes. It is realistic.

My surgeon is top Bariatric guy in Dallas and he told my goal should be 170 from the very first appointment. I started at 320. I'm already down 20lbs only 3 days post op (week of liquid diet before).

Before that I lost 100lbs on my own, just cutting sugar and carbs.

So yes. Realistic. We aren't going to go through all of this to play it smalll.

I'm confused lol why is there a special forum for African Americans?

I know I personally like to follow African American VSGers to see scars and whatnot. Everyone is different, sure. But for most caucasians, their scars are almost non-existent. So seeing threads like this make it easier for people like myself

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
