Yes, as soon as I got into recovery I woke up and I could tell my pain meds hadn't kicked or else they gave me very small dose. As soon as my eyes opened all I could do was cry until they finally found the right mixture of meds to make the pain reduce. I also had a nurse that was pretty rough with me and I finally had to ask her to leave me alone. I got out if surgery about 12, out of recovery about 2:30 and the pain finally subsided enough to walk and use the restroom at about 7

I just made a new twitter account for all things lap band... @LapBandLaur! Would love to talk you all, especially since we are in the same age group.

I just got my approval from the insurance in the mail today !!! I cried my mom thought I was fired because I walked in in tears I'm just so relived happy and scared and anxious at the same time

@@Shell425 omg that sounds so scary !

I've never had kids so idk what all that feels like, but for now that was the worst pain I've ever been they. I'm now almost a week out and I honestly think it was all worth it! I've already lost 10lbs and I feel pretty much back to normal! A little soreness here and there but it kinda feels like I did too many sit ups.. I didn't mean to scare you, but I didn't wanna lie to either! Hopefully u have a more pleasant visit than I did!

@@Shell425 don't need to be sorry at all I'm glad your being honest I know it's going to hurt all I pray for is to have no complications and a speedy recovery

I think the surgery and recovery process is different for everyone. I had my surgery on Friday morning and it has been very easy for me. I have had minimal pain and been able to do quite a bit of walking. It is very odd to not be hungry now though. I would do this process again in a heart beat though for a healthier life.

Hey Kari,

Have you got your date yet?! Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I've been having a lot of trouble staying focused. How is your pre diet going if you're still doing it?

@@gonnabeskinny2015 yeah mine is this Thursday I started my liquid diet yesterday and I'm so nervous for this surgery but I'm looking forward to being happy and healthy

Good luck Kari. The surgery is the easy part, you won't be conscious!????

Post op is a breeze for many of us, as long as the Dr did his job right and you're healthy beforehand the odds are in your favor. Now, the challenge will be afterwards learning what you'll eat and getting to know your new stomach. Just listen and follow your Dr and Nut. Within a year you'll be the new skinny gal on the block. Good luck on your journey!
