How's your blood pressure since surgery?

My blood pressure was high after giving birth (and during). It was always around 120/75 before my pregnancy over 7 years ago. Within 6 months of giving birth, it was up. Docs put me on Lisinopril , and has increased the dose twice to move it up to 30 mg. with that level, I was still having my bp at around 145-155/100-110. Since gastric sleeve surgery (with Dr. Ramos Kelly) it suddenly dropped down. At week 2 and week 3, my bp (with meds cut in half) has been 98/77!!! I'm hoping the doc will tell me I'm done with that med? I even feel calmer. I knew the sleeve could resolve that high bp issue within a year...but in a week!? Anyone else have similar results?

I have never had high blood pressure and mine has dropped a little more, I'm actually adding extra salt to try to keep mine from dropping lower, and yes it happened one week after surgery.

My BP isn't high but I am on a beta blocker due to my heart being in afib and one week after surgery, my dosage had to be lowered because it was too low. A month later I was off my high cholestrol med and diabetes pill too.

i have had severe hypertension for years and was on 3 meds twice daily for it. i'm down to 1/2 of 1 pill a day, but since i've been back to work i notice that my BP is elevated right when i get home. with about 10 more lbs i should be off of it all together! super excited for that.

Congrats

Some people are off their BP meds before they leave the hospital, but not me. I am 8 1/2 months out and still on my full dose of a three-med combination. I think my pcp wants me to be far enough below the weight I was when I had a stroke on 9/9/2010. I am only 13 pounds below that mark right now. That's OK. I was off of Metformin right away, and am at 1/2 dose of Lipitor. All in due time, I guess.

Totally off BP meds since day of surgery

I had surgery 02/14/12 in San Diego, Ca and lost 90 lbs and big improvement in BP. A year ago we retired and moved to Surprise, Az and I have regained 20 lbs and my blood pressure is up again. Feeling disappointed and wish I was back in a support group. THIS is HARD!!
