  1. OH another thing - I found that they taste better -- well, not better, but I'm able to get them down when they are cold. When room temp, they all remind me of bad cold medicine!!
  2. I saw my surgeon the day after surgery to have my drain removed, my PCP at two weeks post-op for some blood work and then my surgeon and NUT at 6 weeks out. My next appt isn't until December (6 months out) for an EGD and follow up. I was just wondering how often everyone else sees their doctors. I am thinking of making another appt with my PCP to check my blood #s, as I was borderline diabetic before surgery and am still on meds for it and now that I am down 50lbs, I am wondering if I still need to be taking it.
  3. Remember, liquid in = liquid out!!! I also have those issues when I eat some foods.. watch out for sugar free candy too!
  4. None of them are great tasting, but I can handle the fruit punch one. But since you can't drink a lot at once after surgery, those Protein shots get the protein needed down. I also drank the Muscle Milk Pro Series 40 -- they are 40g protein in 14 oz. and the flavors are awesome. Mint Choc is my fave!

  6. I also drink those when I am out and about and need some protein real quick. They are under $2 at our local stores and gas stations
  7. My BP isn't high but I am on a beta blocker due to my heart being in afib and one week after surgery, my dosage had to be lowered because it was too low. A month later I was off my high cholestrol med and diabetes pill too.

  11. I'm new to myfitnesspal.com and in the nutrition area it shows a chart of the percentage of carbs, Protein and fat intake per day -- I see that my goals say 50% carbs, 30% fat and 20% protein ---- but should those percentages be different for those of us who have been sleeved??
  12. I've had ice cream - just be sure to count them in with your calories
  13. I just got back from Australia and I really enjoyed the Protein Revival w/ 30g protein. They are ready to drink and real reasonably priced at Aldi.
  14. Wow, I guess I better get moving more! I'm 8 weeks out and have been just walking and using the bands for exercises until this week. I just started using an eliptical machine today in addition to the bands and began using the ab lounge to help with the crunches. That may not sound like a lot but it's more than what I did before wls and my heart goes in and out of afib, so I don't do too much that can bring an episode on.
  15. I usually don't drink out of straws but this past weekend I bought some new protein shakes and drank them with a straw and then went out and had had two glasses of water out of a straw and by that evening, I was miserable. I've never had gas soo bad, and for a few hours too... I was miserable and learned my lesson, no more straws for me!!!

  17. I'll try it once I'm back home. How's your weight loss journey going, NYCkindofgirl ?
  18. My surgeon has me staying on the pills until 6 weeks post op because he says it will help in the stomach healing process. I had bloodwork done at 4 weeks post op and levels were within normal range

  20. Have you tried the Muscle Milk Pro Series? it has 40g of protein, so more than just the regular ones and they have it in vanilla, chocolate and mint chocolate!! The mint one is my fave and I don't think I could stomach the powder shakes so these ready to drink ones are fabulous!!
