Why did you choose VGS instead of Bypass and any regrets.
I chose VSG because with the band you have a foreign object in your body and it has the potential of moving or eroding into your stomach. I did not want bypass because of the higher risk of complications. There was something that seemed a little extreme about rerouting my intestines. The sleeve seemed like a wonderful happy medium. I am 38 days out and thrilled with my decision.

Yep! Tfar my mother in law! Everything went good. She doesn't agree with my decision. I guess her opinion will matter when it is her body.

Thirsty!
I was sleeved on 10/20. I am always soooooo thirsty I drink and drink and drink water.... It doesn't seem to quench my thirst. I have tried crystal light, adding lemon drinking it super cold or room temp. Before surgery/preop, the only thing that made me not thirsty was soda. I know that isn't an option now.... Trying not to fall back into old habits. Any suggestions?

Getting close to where I plateaued before
I am getting close to where I have always stalled/plateaued in my weight loss efforts before. To be honest I am getting anxious about it, I guess I am afraid to fail again. Things are going well. I am two weeks post op today and I have lost 28 pounds. I just hope that if I continue to do what I am supposed to do that the scale will move in the right direction. I am looking forward to saying goodbye to the 280s forever.

Panera
I had some of the broth off of it a day or so ago. I am about the stage you are in. I was only able to eat a few spoonfuls. I would say just to be careful not to eat the chunks and in moderation.

Surgery Oct 20
I am 31. Glad you are doing a little better. I did a preop diet for 2 weeks of protein shakes and liquids. I think it made a difference. Also my surgery was done with a devinche(sp) robot. Not sure if that made a difference or not. Most of my soreness is where my Jp drain was.

Surgery Oct 20
I also had my surgery on Oct 20th. I am home and getting around pretty good. I am a little tender and sore when I get up and down, but other than that things are going well. Praying for a speedy recovery for you!
