How much calcium were you told to take?

Recommended Posts

Just that question. I was told 1200 mg/day in divided doses. I'm wondering about what kind of instructions others have received.

1500 mg through out the day. I take 3/ 500 mg chewables about 2 hours a part.

1200-1500 mg spread out over the day. And not to take Calcium at the same time as Iron as they apparently negatively affect each other's absorption.

My team is okay with me getting 1500 mg of Calcium -- either calcium citrate in supplemental form or from my diet. I track my calcium on MFP and usually get at least 1000 mg from my diet, so supplement the other 500 mg.

I was told 500mg 3 times/day. But I actually only took 500-1000mg once/day probably 5 days a week. My Calcium was actually high on my 6 month labs, so I don't take a supplement anymore. I eat a lot of dairy and drink a lot of milk, so We'll see where my levels are in another 5 months.

None. Swearsies! But I tend to eat a lot of dairy so most days I am over Calcium goal. I was told to take a B-12, Pre-natal and Vitamin D because I'm deficient in Vitamin D.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
