Pics 1 yr after lower body lift & 6 months

Recommended Posts

I am about 1 1/2 years out from my VSG and I've lost around 80 pounds. Really need a complete lower body lift, arms and breast. I wanted to see how the scars look after a year and maybe at 6 months. Mainly worried about the scar that goes completely around your lower body. I've found lots of pics, but none that show how the scar actually looks during the months or years after. If anyone would share I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi, Dr. Capella has a great gallery of photos online. For the lower body lift pictures, look at the "body lift" gallery, but he also has other surgeries as well. He specializes in post-wls patients. Most of his photos are from 1 - 2 years out. Hope this helps!

Does anyone else think it's weird that he takes pics of these women buck naked instead of a small bikini or thong where the genitals are not showing?

Maybe I am an old fuddy duddy.

I have posted scar pictures on this forum - I am about 8 months out.

What I will tell you as someone who has looked at alot of photos post plastics is that how you heal is largely genetic/how well you heal.

Well, they are medical photos after all ... I think it makes more sense to show it all. Just my opinion. :P

Well if you flip through them, some have nothing on in the before picture and a thong on in the after.

If I pose for medical pics I'm going to get a thong first. Now having said that....I've never worn a thong and the thought of one makes my butt cheeks cringe. LOL

For a lot of people getting LBL, having the genital area lifted up is an important part of the surgery. So I think it is great that at least some of the pictures show the results there as well!

Wow at Dr. Capella's work. Very good healing and barely noticed scars.

Due to genetic differences in how scars heal....surgeons tend to cherry pick their very best "afters" which is why I like seeing posts shared by patients who might not make it to the surgeon website.

Good grief! I would be happy to look half as good as MOST of the 'Before' pictures... Looks like mostly vanity surgery to me.

Amen to that! On the site realself.com you can see a ton of pictures from this doctor and others that would never make it into their gallery of work...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
