Stuck: does this sound like it?

Recommended Posts

Was going to get a fill this Thursday but I am having second thoughts. I have 2cc in my 10 cc band. I am on my monthly cycle and I heard the band can be righter during this time. I really have not ate much the past three days and have had Protein Shakes for dinner just so I can get my Protein in for the day. Well after I drank it I realized I forgot to take my antibotic. I opened it up and put it in applesauce but I has one pretty small ball in it besides the powder and it is smaller then all the pills I take in the morning.

15 minutes after I took the meds I started having very sharp chest pains which were right about the bottom of my breast bone. I did not burp or slime at all. I got up and started walking and got hot and started tensing up so my neck was hurting. This lasted about 15 mins and just stopped. Now I am sipping some hot tea.

Does it sound like the pill got stuck? Should I do just liquids tomorrow? Lost as this is the first time it has happened.

Not sure what else it could be. My throat kind of feels swollen now and when I took a sip of Water it felt kind of weird going down and like it may come back up.

I don't believe you got food stuck...i try to avoid pills since one day I swallow a Vitamin D gel and it got somehow park in my esophagus for long 10 minutes. I switch to gummies and I count the calories as part of my daily calories intake, so far so good, my blood work looks beautiful. I burp a lot too for months. I was burping like crazy, doctor told me I was drinking or eating too fast and the air was trying to get out at the same time the liquid was trying to get in so it was causing me pain. Now I eat and drink very slowly and I take a gas relief chewable tablet from Walmart brand "equate" (I took the advice given in this forum, my dr. Didn't gave me the gas relief tablet but I told him in my last visit and he was ok with that). For pain I use children tylenol tablet and it work beautifully. Take it easy for a couple of days and if it happens again call you doctor.

It does sound similar but it's hard to believe a tiny pill caused this? Sounds more like an esophageal spasm to me? I've never had one but I've had more than my share of stuck episodes and tiny pills don't get stuck. I've read other forum members who had spasms though. Sounds like a good question for the doctor.

Were you eating regular food up till that point? For Breakfast or lunch?

Don't cancel your fill. This is an opportunity to talk this over with the doctor/nurse/NP? Let them decide if it's necessary. You don't have the expertise to make those decisions yet. jmo

I get the neck tension and swollen throat if I have a couple bites too much and my band is tight. The Protein Shake could've been sitting in your stomach still and the applesauce with the pill could have just filled you up to much.

Thanks everyone. I had to cancel my fill because I go to a fill clinic so it can be done under floro. I made a doctor apt for Friday to discuss what happened and see if they still think I should get a fill or not. Being very careful of what I eat today because my throat and esophagus still feel swollen.

Same thing happened to me last week. Called the nurse and she had me go back to full liquids for 3 days. Feels much better now.

Went to the doctor today and he removed 0.5cc from my band to let the swelling go down. I was having acid reflux since the episode on Monday. I go back in 3 weeks to see if they will put more Fluid back in.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
