2 weeks before 1st fill

Recommended Posts

I got my band on 3-21 and have done great, only lost about 10# post band. My biggest concern right now is that I don't feel like the band is even there. I realize there's no restriction right now but I can eat TOTALLY normally at this point. It's worrisome as I've gained back about 3# from my loss post-banding.

Did this happen to anyone else? Did you feel like you were back sliding. While I'm at it I will admit I've not been good about following the preset meals as I'm more hungry than these meal samples satisfy. I am a lower BMI bander but had hoped for a bit better results after the initial banding. Worried at this point. :phanvan

I thought the banding would restict me but wow was I wrong. After first fill I could not even eat a 9 or 10 frozen meal.

Give it time.

You have already lost 10lbs, and you dont even have a fill! That is nothing to be discouraged about. This is a slow healthy process, not an instant fix, and the goal is 1-2 lbs per week. The first weeks/months were a little discouraging for me also, until I saw that the loss becomes fairly steady, and then I was able to relax and enjoy the process. Once you get a fill or two you will find that the band is able to help you make better choices and enjoy smaller portions....that is when it really starts "working"! Hang in there!

Yes.. I felt the same way. I just had my first fill and am still not restricted. I am going back in 2 weeks for another fill...I'm ready for some restriction.

I just got my 3rd fill last Monday and I feel it now! The first two fills felt a little tight but I was able to eat more than I thought I should be able to. This last fill might be my sweet spot.

Hang in there, you're doing fine. It takes a little bit of experimenting to figure it out.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
