I'm tired too. Not feeling hungry yet today but I was a little yesterday - there were a couple moments when I reached for food just out of habit and had to stop myself. I am able to get my liquids in but it's already getting to feel like a chore. I can't wait to get through this first month. Are you taking a pepsid? That is supposed to stop acid in the stomach which can mimic hunger. I was prescribed it twice a day for a month. If you're not already taking it and you feel hungry, you could call your MD and ask for it?

Pepcid really helped me. My biggest problem with liquids is that I can't drink cold Water without pain.

@@Georgia Pritchett, one of my requirements is 12 ounces or more of Propel zero or Powerade zero - I forgot to put these in the fridge before surgery but when I had one yesterday at room temp I found it was easier to drink than cold Water or shakes. Maybe you can try switching these for Water?

I have both the liquid and pill form off it. I've been taking the liquid twice a day but may switch to the pill just to see if there is a difference. I too cannot wait for this first month to be up. I knew from the beginning that this would be difficult and told myself I would try to maintain as much positivity about it, but I'm already ready to fast-forward a few weeks. What is everyones 1st month diet progression like? Mine is liquids for 2 weeks, purees for 2 weeks and then moving on to soft foods.

I'm trying to stay positive too - we have come so far, this is (I hope) the last difficult phase. I feel like once I'm on solid food, I can feel normal again. My diet is 2 weeks on liquid (during second week, starting next Wed, I can add in yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce only IF NEEDED for hunger); then 2 weeks of mushy food (ground meats, etc.), then normal foods can be added in as tolerated. Basically as of Oct. 2nd I am cleared for regular food (only as tolerated). So that is the date I'm looking at as a big deal.

Checking in. How's it going?

Today I drove for the first time! It was good to get out of the house. I miss eating. Even things that I wouldn't have particularly cared for previously sound wonderful right now, lol. Just to be able to chew. My incisions are starting to itch a bit. Has anyone researched scar creams/treatments? Wondering what might be good to treat the scars after they heal.

Hope everyone is well!!

I still don't have energy. Did some laundry, I didn't lift the bags. Came home and took a two-hour nap. I have been driving, in the neighborhood but today I drove for about 2 hours. I guess that's what tired me out also. I am drinking more liquids and Protein. Go to Dr for a check up tomorrow.

Yeah, I've been a bit low energy. Driving made me tired too. I have to work harder at the liquids/protein. It's overwhelming sometimes.

Hi all... First time writing anything. It's been a week since my laparoscopic sleeve and I am still in sooo much pain on my left side. I can barely move, stand straight or walk. It's been awful. I really thought it was going to be a piece of cake since I had 2 previous c-sections. Anyone else here experiencing this? I called my docs office yesterday and they said it's totally normal. I have a post op check up tomorrow. I'm scared because everyone else writes how good they feel and they can go out and about and I can't even get relief from my pain pills. The pain is not from the incisions but deep inside... Please help.

@@alur72, I'm so sorry you're having this pain. The best thing is that you MD said it's totally normal so even though it's horrible to deal with you know it's temporary. Glad you are going in for a check up tomorrow, my MD doesn't schedule us back until 2 weeks post surgery. I am one of the ones doing well - right now at least - but I as of yesterday and today I"m having horrible gas (not from the anesthesia) pains and cramping, and I'm starting to feel lightheaded from not having calories for so long. So I would guess that we all have something we're dealing with - we're not all living the good life, that's for sure! I hope the pain gets better soon, keep in touch with us and let us know how it goes tomorrow.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
