I may be being ridiculous here but I feel I should ask just to give myself peace of mind and everyone is so wonderful on here it helps so much!

I had surgery Monday and I've already moved onto Mushies as I've literally had no issues at all. All pain is gone apart from obviously a little from the incisions when I bend and get up etc. But other than that I'm literally back to normal. I have no appetite but I'm still looking for good which I'm guessing is normal as I'm off work and bored (I know this is my main down fall I need to work on!!!) but if I do have something it's literally like 3 tea spoon fulls of yogurt or some smoothie or something. I've had one very tiny bowl of mash potato for dinner in the last two days and that's pretty much it!!!! I don't understand why I haven't lost any weight.... I'm not expecting a miracle by any means but I'm eating soooo little I thought id have lost SOMETHING in the last 5 days?! Can the weight be from swelling or anything as my tummy is still pretty swollen!

Just some advice would be lovely thankyou xxxx

It is normal to me because I recently went through it too. I actually gained weight the day after the surgery, 4lbs I think it was. I was not happy at all and then couldn't loose any for almost two weeks. Then to my surprise the last two weeks it has been coming off on a good basis. I was banded June 20th.

When I had complained to the doctors office they told me I was suppose to concentrate on healing not loosing weight in the beginning.

Don't sweat it, it will come off.

Good luck and congrats!

Colleen

You will have swelling for a little bit and that will account for the weight gain or lack of weight loss. This is a time for healing and you should focus on that. Protein is an important part of healing and since you aren't able to eat the dense Proteins like meat, you will mostly get those in Protein shakes, greek yogurt etc. I know a lot of people tell you not to worry about tracking during the healing phase, but getting good Proteins is vey important. It will also help you so you aren't as hungry.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
