I didn't have any trouble swallowing my pills while after surgery. Maybe start with the smallest one & see how that goes.

I took my pills whole with no issues. Just go slow and dont take them after you eat

The biggest thing is don't take them after you have eaten or if you have wait the standard 45 min before drinking anything. I take mine first thing in the morning so I can do one at a time and drink it down with a small gulp. Good luck! it does get a lot better I promise you!

Mixing the beads in the antacid capsule on a teaspoon of applesauce, cottage cheese or yogurt, there is no taste if you swallow them quickly. We have taken many meds since being sleeved, just taking it slow. I would guess I take 10 pills a day, my husband also. I did go to a liquid Vitamin a few months but have been back on the big multi Vitamin A few months.

I have a prescription that I take in capsule form. My doctor recommended I open the capsule & sprinkle it on applesauce. Immediately post surgery, I tried it on Jell-o, but it was difficult to do and hard to avoid the tiny pills getting everywhere in my mouth. I'm 7 weeks post-op now & I used the applesauce until this week, when I was able to swallow the capsule again. Applesauce was so much easier!!

I found Omeprazole pellets went down okay in applesauce. Some of the ones that had to be crushed, not so much. For the ones that tasted really bad, I learned to cut them in small pieces if they were big and swallow the pieces one at a time on an emptyish stomach if possible, (more room in there).

I would recommend friend that you make sure you have eaten food prior to the meds. Most meds have this warning. As one who ended up in the hospital from meds on an empty stomach, I would rather you be cautious and not go there. There is plenty of room for a pill and food. Be safe and be cautious!

Not sure about Omprezole but I took Zyrtec with no problems. Just didn't try it on a full stomach or with a big gulp.

Thank you! Should the applesauce be no sugar added kind?

The first 7 days are tough to get adjusted to tastes and nausea. Take one at a time. Unsweetened applesauce worked for me. Use meltaways or gummies whenever possible. Maybe hide it in your Protein shake??

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
