Dr. Jalil Illan with Baja Bariatrics and Omar Acosta - A Warning

Recommended Posts

Well I'm sorry but common sense tells me like it should anybody that you can't go off to MX and fall in love! Red flags everywhere so yea I tried to protect her. So I guess you got a point but why not make a general post and not just single out one person cause everyone going to MX needs to use common sense and safety. I'm sure he isn't the only one and I'm sure these ladies aren't the only ones that have had this happen with other "groups" it's not just Omar and Illan

Have you heard of it happening at another bariatric surgical clinic?

Wow this is nuts. Please show me where I have said you have discredited mulitple posts, or that alex, or lipstick lady are fake names you created or that you were fired? The only thing I said was you posted under a fake name that was created last night to support your arguments and I had the EVIDENCE in a form of a screen shot to show why I felt that way. Now show me where I have said what you now accuse me of saying. This is getting beyond ridiculous.

Yes, and we have explained and discredited your attempt to discredit me numerous times regarding that and what happened. Yes, I find the fact that you keep bringing that up as beyond ridiculous too. I did not specifically accuse you of anything, bless your heart. I said that if you expect an apology, I would like to know where my apologies are for everyone trying to discredit me because posted about a serious issue that is occurring. Instead of addressing that issue, it is apparently more important to try and discredit me. That is typical of people who want to try and take attention off of what the real issue is.

I know if I had, I would be speaking out about it as well. But, this is the only one I have heard of, and when six separate woman come to me, I cannot just turn a blind eye and pretend nothing is wrong.

Susan, I think your approach in this topic has been horrible. You made a very aggressive and inflammatory post then immediately went on the attack on anyone who asked questions. You tried to dismiss people as merely fangirls as if people don't have a brain and can think for themselves. I resent being told I am of a herd mentality and therefore my legitimate questions are not worthy of consideration. That is an ad hominem attack. I think you owe me an apology.

If we are going to go there, where are the apologies owed to me? Claiming I have discredited multiple doctors, that I have created multiple fake ID's, that Alex, Bill and Lipsticklady are all fake names I have created? Claiming I was fired as a coordinator, when I actually resigned? Where are my apologies?

WAIT!!!!  I'm not real???   Does that mean Bill isn't getting me a ring??

It does take two.  They were wrong, he was wrong.  Fortunately/unfortunately, their mistakes/infidelity bears nothing on the medical experience of someone else as his does.  He was their host, their leader, their guide.  He should have kept it in his pants even if they were begging for it.  That's his responsibility, period.

But yet we always believe the females and call them the victim. I'm sorry but as adults we know what's right from wrong period. If they felt so uncomfortable then why they keep relationships after they came home and even went back to visit! Yea ok. Yes it's wrong as hell what he did
But again it took 2! And I'm only speaking about the 3 I know about that was not uncomfortable at the time and wanted more.

I really do wonder what uncivilized culture the women are living in who say, essentially, "he's a man and he has his urges, so you can't blame him."

Let me introduce you to the actual facts of this matter.

The sexual comments and events described in this thread took place in a bariatric surgery center. A bariatric surgery center is NOT a bar. It is NOT a dance club. It is NOT a singles mixer. It is, I repeat, a MEDICAL CLINIC.

The people working there--ALL of them, not just the doctor--have a standard of care they must meet, which is to care for the health of their patients who are trusting that the people working at the clinic have the patients' best interests at heart and that they will be healed and helped, not hurt.

And regarding the doctor's culpability, read the bloody medical code of ethics. You will see that a doctor is responsible in every way for the delivery of the services of his/her medical team. Whether the doctor knows or doesn't know about misbehavior like this, he/she is STILL responsible for the misbehavior BECAUSE IT IS HIS/HER CLINIC and the people working there are his/her employees.

That's exactly how a Medical Board of Examiners will look at it.

Yep, he figures he only needs to get a ring for one of my personalities, not all of them. Sorry.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
