I didn't get surgery July 7th because my insurance was terminated days before my surgery.. Soooooo sad. But all I have to do is reactivate it and call my surgeon back with an effective date of my insurance and get a new date.. Anyone familiar with this happening

Why was it cancelled?

It says why up there. My insurance was terminated without giving me notice. So all I have to do it call back once my insurance is up and running again and I'll have a new date

Sorry - I should have been more clear. I was wondering why the insurance was cancelled. But no worries, you'll have a date again soon. No, have heard other reasons why procedure was cancelled last minute (doc was sick, patient was sick, etc) but not because insurance was cancelled. Might be a blessing in disguise.

It was time for renewal and didn't even think of that with all the excitement. But now it's in process of being reopened I just have to wait til it's open again and I'll have my date. I'm just being positive

Hi Tammie30 !!! So sorry to hear about your set back. Hang in there girl, it will happen. My surgery did happen on Monday 7/7. Came out great. Dr. was gonna let me go on Tuesday, but I felt a little funny, so we agreed for me to stay one more night. Happy I did stay. Started throwing up during the night real bad. Had to go NPO again. Only IV'S going and still throwing up. Dr. ordered all kind of xrays all night long on Wedsday night. He came into my room around 10:45 pm and saw my condition and ordered emergency surgery. In less than an hour he was back in clearing up scar tissue from past surgerys. Felt 100% better after that. Came home yesterday (Thursday). First night was a little rough only because I had to really take care of myself. Oh and while I was in the hospital, My son had to rush my Dad to ER at the same hospital. My poor Mom & Aunt had run between the both of us. So please say a prayer for them and My Dad. They really don't know what is going on with him yet. Now time for my weight to start coming off!!!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
