JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

Recommended Posts

I like Unjury chicken broth.. and they delivered within 2-3 days... although after 10 days it is getting old. :)

Hello! I am a 7/14/14 sleever... not loosing anything for the past 4 days stinks.

I will just keep drinking and trying to get in the Protein.< /p>

Yes I'm definitely in the the same place I've been trying to get as much liquids and protein in as possible but of course the protein is horrible and I can't seem to get down a whole bottle of anything with it in it I'm even trying that unflavored protein they gave me in the hospital but I don't kno what to do as far as that's concern

Not sure where you are in eating phase. I am in puréed. One of my favorite go to protein foods is sugar free/fat free instant pudding with two scoops of my vanilla Protein Powder and 1/4 cup PB2 powder. It s really good and very satisfying.

I AM STILL CLEAR LQUID FOR 2 MORE DAYS... BUT THIS SOUNDS YUMMY... can you tell me how much pudding you put in?

Got my surgery-sitting in hospital bed. Feels like I did 3000 sit ups.

Congratulations!!!!

Walk as soon as you can to help with the gas. After the swallow test, you'll enjoy Water like you never have before, only in teeny sips. Tomorrow won't be so bad. The day after that will be the worst, but the payoff makes it TOTALLY worth it.

hey man how do you keep up with Vitamins

I take my son's chewable vitamin... although I don't chew. I suck on it. I found one at costco that has very little carbs.

I was just discharged from the hospital. The experience was wonderful! My doctor is Wade Barker and he performed the surgery at Forest Park Medical Center in Southlake. I'm also self-pay. I wish you all a speedy recovery!

Hello! My surgery was 7/7/14. My high weight before beginning. The preop diet was 266, day of surgery was 251, and current weight is 239. All in all it has been pretty good started on my soft easy to chew Proteins like canned meat, Beans and cheese. food doesn't taste the same, I am never hungry and when I eat I am so focused on eating slow, chewing, and not hurting my stomach it has become more of a chore than enjoyment. Also it is hard to get the Protein you need in. Exercising is going great, just surprised I have the energy:)

Try adding Isopure nonflavored protein to any mushy stuff you eat like Greek yogurt. You add one spoonful and get 26 extra grams of protein in .

Everyone sounds like they are doing extremely well! Congratulations!

I had the sleeve on July 2. I thought I was doing great until Day 2. I had to end up staying an extra day in the hospital due to severe nausea. When I came home, as expected, I was EXHAUSTED! I slept 14 hours a day and was running a low grade fever. My doc chalked it up to post-op, but I knew I was not right. Finally, after two visits back to the doctor in the first week, they cultured one of my incisions and discovered that I had an infection. Pseudomonas. My surgeon swears she has no idea how I got it, that she has never had a patient get this type of infection from the hospital. All I know is that I was put on 10 days of Cipro (which has to be crushed! ) and I'm finally starting to feel better. Of course the Cipro causes nausea, which causes me not to eat anything during Phase II. To compound things, my blood pressure was way too low, causing low energy and dizziness. I'm now off my BP meds, but my pressure is still on the low side. I weigh myself every morning when I get up and in 3 weeks and 1 day post op, I have only lost 9 lbs. Needless to say, I'm just a little bummed! I don't regret having the surgery, I just regret getting this darn infection.

Sorry to go on and on but I guess this is the place to vent. Thanks for listening and I hope and pray that everyone keeps getting stronger everyday!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
