My butt is in serious denial...

Recommended Posts

The way my body has chosen to lose the weight so far is killing me!!! I've lost over 80 lbs this year and I'm pretty sure 70 of it has been my top half. My butt is in serious denial that I ever got this surgery. I'm down 4 sizes in shirts from a 30 to a 22 but my bottom half can still wear 26/28. And I'm getting ready to need to go down another shirt size as the 22s are starting to fall off my shoulders. I look so out of proportion it's ridiculous. Problem is with the size of my butt and hips I can't get smaller shirts because they are skintight on that part. Even the 22s that are getting too loose on my waist and shoulders are a little snug on the hips. Dressing and buying clothes is getting to be a chore. Don't get me wrong I am so blessed to be where I am versus where I was last year but I would enjoy actually looking like I lost 80 lbs and less like a weeble (you know, weebles wobble but they don't fall down). My vent for now...

Hey, I know u! Ur the exact opposite of me!

I've lost 100 lbs, about 85 of those from my butt and legs. If I lose anymore from down there, I won't be able to hold myself up. I say I look like "a marshmallow being held up with 2 toothpicks". I went from a 22 jean to a 6/8 and from a 3x to an XL top. I still wear an XL top! When I shop for pajamas, I take a set of xl's and a set of mediums in the dressing room. I then exchange them, so I take home the xl top and the med pants. I'm that person u cussed out at Target who sent u home with off sized pajamas! I still wear a 40D bra, for goodness sake.

I posted a pic of me at the beach a couple weeks ago on this board, with the title: "My body looks photoshopped onto my head". It doens't look normal. (http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/310700-looks-like-someone-photoshopped-someones-elses-body-on-my-legs/?hl=%2Bphotoshopped#entry3507229)

If there's any positive in ur dilemma I could state that lower body fat is healthier than fat around the middle or upper body. My positive is that I still have boobs. I'd actually like them to be a tad smaller but my husband would protest, I'm sure.

WTG on ur sucess thus far! We can't complain too much, can we?

Good luck!

I've read that the wt you gain first is the last part to leave. So if you've had hips for a long time, they will come off last. Like my thighs are loose, but they are still huge. I'm melting from face and chest down. I have a little round inner tube that is forming now. Wow, sure hope it doesn't get too outrageous. :-) LOL.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
