5 lbs 1st two days. Then I'm losing- 1 lbs everyday. I am worried it's too fast.

some/many newbies are afraid they are not losing enough weight immediately after surgery

some people like you, might be afraid they are losing too much weight :(

there is no correct/normal answer

we are all different and losing different amount of weights in different time periods

never, never, ever compare yourself to others

people have been shot for less!!

you are not losing too much or too fast

you are doing fine :)

REALLY :)

keep up the good work :)

I think it is supposed to drop off quickly at first. I have lost 22 pounds in 22 days since my surgery. This does not concern me, but the other issues are a bit worrisome. I suffered from mild Premature Arterial Contractions prior to surgery, and they have worsened since. I am hoping this is just due to low calories and rapid weight loss. EKG's have been normal and I am scheduled for a Holter monitor this week just to make sure.

GOOD LUCK!

Many will lose quickly at first. Partially because our bodies are losing the extra Fluid they gave in surgery, partially because of the shock of having surgery. Some don't lose well at all that first week or two as they hang on to the surgery fluids. All of it is OK. Stick to the plan your doc gave you, keep hydrated, walk, and you'll do fine. Also try to remember you felt this way when you hit your first stall, because that will happen too! It all evens out in the end!

You'll lose fast the first month post op. Then it tetters off gently each month. I lost around 43 my first month post op. Then it lightened up each month there after.

As long as your following the rules, you'll be fine. Trust the process and trust your sleeve!

In my first week post op, one day I went to bed, the next I woke up seven lbs lighter. It was bizarre. I mean, did I sweat it out while I was sleeping? Did the fat fairy come it take it like the tooth fairy? Where did it go? Ha ha. Anyhow, yeah, it is totally normal. I'm 7 weeks and almost 40 lbs down. But it has slowed from that rapid clip (including a 12 day stall!).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
